Limitless skiing fun! The Arlberg has always been known for its pioneering spirit when it comes to winter sports – Hannes Schneider revolutionised the skiing technique known as the Arlberg school of skiing; in 1937, Austria’s first T-bar lift was built in Zürs, and the Galzigbahn cable car in St. Anton was the first cable car designed for winter operation. These and other innovations made the Arlberg famous as the cradle of Alpine skiing. An average of 9 metres of snowfall each winter and about 70 percent of mechanically covered pistes make the St. Anton, St. Christoph, Stuben, Zürs, Lech, Schröcken and Warth area one of the most reliable in terms of snow c onditions. In Austria’s largest skiing resort – and one of the five largest skiing areas worldwide – skiers can explore 305 downhill skiing kilometres, 200 kilometres of deep snow skiing and 88 lifts and cable ways, as well as the spectacular Run of Fame skiing round.

General Terms and Conditions of Ski Arlberg (GTC) Contractual partner: The members of Ski Arlberg operate their respective lifts, ski slopes, ski routes and fun sports facilities (hereinafter collectively referred to as “facilities”) on their own authority and as legally independent entities. The purchase of a pass (= any ticket of any kind that entitles the holder to use a lift) for the facilities of the members of Ski Arlberg entitles the purchaser to use all facilities covered by Ski Arlberg. However, the actual transport contract is only concluded with the mountain railway company whose facilities are currently being used by the contracting party. Any liability, whether based on contractual or statutory provisions, for incidents arising from or in connection with the operation and use of the facilities shall therefore be borne exclusively by the mountain railway company whose facilities are used during the incident. Any other mountain railway companies of Ski Arlberg shall not be held liable. Personal data: When purchasing a name-based ski pass (personalised Arlberg Card) and when purchasing a ski pass at authorised Ski Arlberg sales outlets (e.g. hotel, tourism association), the personal data of the purchaser (first and last name, date of birth, postal address, hotel address, possibly credit card data and account data) are also recorded and processed. Further information is given in the General Terms and Conditions (in particular sections 6, 7 and 21 of the GTC). Failure to transport pass holders: The mountain railway company is not obliged to transport the holder of a valid ski pass if transport is impossible or inadmissible for reasons for which the mountain railway company is not responsible. Such reasons include not only weather-related effects (e.g. strong wind) and risk of avalanches, but also downtimes due to prescribed maintenance work or technical faults. If the ski pass is not used for reasons for which the card holder is responsible (e. g. non-use of the ski pass due to bad weather, illness, injury not resulting from ski accidents and unforeseen departure), the holder is not entitled – with the exception of non-use as the result of winter sports accidents (see below) – to reimbursement or credit of the fee paid for the ski pass or extension of the validity of the ski pass to the extent of non-use. Limitation of available tickets: For safety reasons we reserve the right to limit the sale of day tickets or ski passes at short notice if there is a risk of overcrowding on the ski slopes. We apologise for any inconvenience caused in such exceptional cases. Checking the validity of ski passes, blocking ski passes, loss of ski passes: The ski pass is not transferable. Ski passes that have not been purchased at Ski Arlberg‘s authorised sales outlets, lost ski passes and ski passes that have been improperly acquired or used will be blocked. The validity of the ski passes is checked at the valley or mountain stations of the lifts, at the other facilities, in the cash desk area or at the parking areas by scanners and/or by the employees of the mountain railway company, to whom the ski pass must be presented at all times upon request. In order to prevent misuse of the ski pass (processing purpose), a reference photo is taken of all card holders the first time they pass through a scanner equipped with a camera. The person shown on the reference photo is compared by the employees of the mountain railway company with the person who passes the scanner equipped with a camera. The reference photo is deleted after the expiry of the ski pass, unless it is needed for evidence purposes in a pending or threatened legal dispute. In this case it will be kept until the end of the lawsuit. Any attempted or actual misuse of the ski pass or the circumvention of the scanners shall result in the immediate withdrawal of the ski pass, collection of the transport charge stated in the tariff conditions and the penalty set out in the tariff conditions, notwithstanding any criminal consequences. In case of violation of the conditions of transport, violation of the closure of ski runs (e.g. due to the risk of avalanches), the ban on skiing in forest areas or the FIS rules, the card holder will be excluded from transport, and in serious cases and in event of repeated violation the ski pass will be withdrawn without replacement and a complaint will be submitted to the respective authorities. Lost ski passes are not replaced. However, the loss of a ski pass (valid for three days or more) whose holder is registered by name (personalised Arlberg Card) can be reported to the ticket offices. Upon presentation of the proof of purchase and proof of identity (identity card), it is possible to block these ski passes at the access control points and to obtain a replacement card upon payment of a processing fee. Without presentation of the purchase receipt and proof of identity, no replacement passes can be issued even for personalised ski passes. Refunds: A refund or credit of the fee paid for a ski pass is only possible in the event of injuries caused by ski accidents that make it impossible to continue use of the ski pass and only for ski passes with a validity period of two days or longer. No refunds are granted for accompanying persons. The validity of the ski pass is not extended by the length of time it has not been used. The refund will be made on a pro rata basis from the last use of the ski pass (but not before the first day after the accident) if the ski pass is no longer used after the accident. The cash receipt and a medical certificate from a doctor resident in the Ski Arlberg resorts confirming that it is no longer possible for the holder to use the ski pass must be presented. Refunds are made in Lech at the ski pass centre (valley station Rüfikopf), in Oberlech at the Petersbodenbahn, in Zürs at the Trittkopfbahn, in St. Anton and Stuben at the main ticket offices and in Warth Schröcken at all ticket offices. Transport of children: The permissible method of transporting children is described in the transport conditions of the individual lifts. These transport conditions are posted at the access points to the lifts and must be complied with. Skiing accidents: In the event of skiing accidents, the exact accident report can be sent from the emergency call point, the nearest lift station or the designated reporting point as well as by mobile phone. The phone numbers for piste rescue can be found in the “information block” of the Ski Arlberg panorama brochure. The use of the piste rescue service is subject to a charge and the service providers must be paid a contribution to the costs for rescue and transportation after accidents which is not included in the price of the ski pass. Arlberg Safety Card: The Arlberg Safety Card (ASC) can be purchased at the Ski Arlberg sales outlets. The General Terms and Conditions for ASC apply. The contractual partners of the purchaser of an ASC are not the members of Ski Arlberg. Only the purchaser of this card is entitled to the services provided by the ASC; the card and services are not transferable. In the event of an accident, the ASC holder must present the card to the emergency services at the scene of the accident without being requested to do so. Closed facilities: It is prohibited to ski on, use or access closed facilities. It is not permitted to ski in the forests. Infringements can result in the confiscation of the ski pass without replacement. After the last inspection run immediately after the last ascent, the ski slopes and ski routes are closed, also due to the risks caused by maintenance work (use of snow groomers, winches, snow generators, exposure of cables and hoses, work on fencing and guidance equipment, etc.). There is no hazard protection during these closure periods. Instructions given by the employees of Ski Arlberg‘s mountain railway companies as well as by the piste guard must be followed without restriction to prevent dangerous situations. If there is the risk of avalanches, the ski slopes and ski routes are closed and may therefore neither be used nor accessed (see also sections 10, 17 and 18). Avalanche blasting is carried out during and after fresh snowfall; during this time it is forbidden to use or access the affected areas. For their own safety, persons travelling to areas outside the secured and open ski slopes and ski routes must obtain the necessary information on avalanche blasting from piste management. Instructions: The instructions of the employees of the Ski Arlberg mountain railway companies and the piste guard must be obeyed. The complete General Terms and Conditions, the tariff conditions and the conditions of participation of the “Golden Moments” Club are available online at www.skiarlberg.at and can also be viewed at the main t icket offices upon request.
