Fo-

Dear fans of Arlberg and deep snow, For the fifth time already, we will be giving the important topic of "Safety in the snow" our full focus right at the start of the season. Although this topic has of course been a priority at Arlberg for much longer than that. Freeriding and off-piste skiing is deeply rooted in our skiing culture, as is acting safely in the snow. For the last five years, we have provided this extremely popular aspect of our culture with an official platform, in the form of the "Snow and Safety Conference", which gets an overwhelming response every year. Under the headings "Avalanche - (Own) Responsibility - Risk (Culture) - Society", an impressive programme of expert lectures looking at theory and practice await you this year. You will have a unique opportunity to test the latest ski and safety equipment right at the start of the season, to hear about all the aspects of safety from state-certified mountain and skiing guides and to see and learn from real pros of the freeride scene while they carve lines. And, last but not least, you will have the opportunity to meet top stars such as Lorraine Huber and Michael Larcher in a relaxed atmosphere and exchange thoughts and ideas. With this in mind, I hope you have an insightful time with us on the Arlberg and a fantastic 2016/17 winter season, with the Snow and Safety Conference 2016 being the best possible way to start it.
