Getting here & local travel TRAVELLING BY CAR Vignette toll stickers Motorways and dual carriageways in Austria are subject to tolls. Vignette toll stickers are available at border crossings, petrol stations, post offices, tobacco shops, from your automobile association and from Lech Zürs Tourismus. Rates €9.20 for 10-day highway toll car sticker €26.80 for 2-month highway toll car sticker €89.20 for 1-year highway toll car sticker The best time to travel We advise timing your arrival to use the section of the road between Feldkirch - Lech or Imst – Lech before 9.30am or after 2pm On the return journey, the period between 10.30am and 3pm is the peak time for traffic jams. Tyres In winter, you need to bear in mind that there will be snow on the roads and winter tyres are compulsory. You are also required to take snow chains with you in heavy snowfall. Lech ZĂźrs is proud of its cultural historical heritage and loves to open this up to visitors. Thus, the Lech Museum transports guests back into the past while the Walser Museum Lech-Tannberg promises an exciting day out. The KĂ¤stle Mountain Museum showcases the vibrant history surrounding the legendary Arlberg skis. The Arlberg mountain is also renowned as a place for cultural encounters. The Allmeinde Commongrounds and newly erected Skyspace Lech are particularly appealing to art lovers.

A new dimension of skiing The Arlberg region has been the home of passionate skiing for more than 100 years. Every year, Lech's restaurateurs and sommeliers select the "Lech Festival Wine" from the Lower Austrian Weinviertel region for their guests. Beyond the Arlberg, this culinary cooperation has also linked Lech's partner towns of Beaver Creek (USA), Kampen on the island Sylt (Germany) and Hakuba near Nagano (Japan) for over 20 years. The winning wines will celebrate a key anniversary in the coming year – 150 years.

THE WINNING WINES An independent jury selects the winning Weinviertel DAC wines in the Grüner Veltliner and Zweigelt categories, together with red wine cuvée. The project, which falls under the authority of the Probus winemakers’ initiative run by Generali, is conducted in collaboration with the regional wine committee of the Weinviertel itself and the Weinstrasse Weinviertel association. ARLBERG CLASSIC Legends of the automobile world and a fascinating landscape are the perfect ingredients for the spectacular ARLBERG CLASSIC Car Rally. Impressing the spectators each year with rare classics, the top-level participants have to master some 625 kilometres from the Arlberg to Zugspitze mountain and back in just 3 days.

L EC H P H I LOS O P H I C U M Since its inception in 1997, the Lech Philosophicum has established itself as an international centre for philosophic exchange. Surrounded by Lech’s mountains, its participants engage in immensely interesting debates and encounters revolving around the central issues of our time. LECHWEG TRAIL The Lechweg trail clearly shows just how much the Lech River characterises this region: from its source close to Formarinsee lake, it is unstoppable in its course to Füssen in the southern Allgäu region. When walking along the Lechweg trail, long-distance hikers follow the course of the river and discover some of the most magnificent places in Europe’s last wild river landscape. TA N N B E R G W E G T R A I L Tannberg used to be the name of the Walser people judicial district which included Schröcken, Warth and Lech. And it’s this legacy which you can explore when walking along the Tannbergweg trail. Partly negotiating narrow, high-Alpine trails, the themed trail leads hikers through the charming natural landscape and – over 57 stations – introduces them to the sites, places of residence and fairy-tales which have shaped the history of the Walser people.

DOORS Nine doors designed by artists from five countries: the art installation found along the Green Ring trail at over 2,000 metres above sea level highlights the boundaries in the landscape and opens up new space at the same time. GOLF At 1,500 metres above sea level, Lech offers a 19-hectare playground for all those who are passionate about improving their handicap.
