We are very sad to tell you that one of our dearest and sweetest friends as well as a gifted quilter, Renee Lange, passed away this summer. She spent so much of her time to create wonderful quilts with Flower Sugar and other beautiful fabrics, and was by far one of the most enthusiastic and dedicated quilters we have worked with. Renee loved all beautiful things. Anyone who has read her blog or viewed her Instagram will fully understand how much joy and happiness she has seen in others and the world. Her kindness not only reflected to those around her, but also on social media as well. Renee will always be remembered and respected in this community for her love and grace. We send our deepest condolences to her family and friends. We also hope that we all continue to live in her example, by looking for beauty and kindness in our hearts and showing it to others. Hi I’m Michelle and I live in Sydney, Australia with my husband of 27 years and four children aged between 14 and 21. Taught by my mum, I’ve been sewing for 30 years and love all things crafty. Over the years I have taken up and enjoyed scrapbooking, crocheting, knitting, embroidery, cross stitching, sewing, and quilting. I make lots of my own clothes, and found great joy sewing for my daughter when she was little. A few years ago, I began quilting with my twin sister, and haven’t looked back. All things pretty, that is my passion – lots of tiny florals, polka dots, and gingham. That’s why I love Flower Sugar – it ticks all the boxes. Lately I’ve been enjoying taking more modern quilt patterns and adding my “pretty” take on them. Earlier this year I began Sew Sorted, a virtual assistance business, catering to the many small business / solopreneurs of the sewing industry. Jade Prosser of Stitch Mischief Designs http://www.stitchmischief.com I have loved color as long as I can remember. To be able to play with color on a daily basis is a dream come true. As a young mother, I taught myself to quilt in 2005 but didn't get serious about it until 2013. I have entered the world of pattern design and am loving it. I am also an avid knitter - I learned as a child from my mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. In line with that, I've recently been experimenting with dying fiber, which has been very exciting. One long-term goal is to design my own fabric collection and be able to put color to fabric the way I've been applying it to yarn. In the meantime, I am more than happy to be home with my little tribe, while sneaking away to play when I can.
