EN{ROLMENT POLICY LECHATIN NS GENERAL POLICY:

It is the policy of LECKAUN N.S. to enrol its new pupils once a year. This is done at the beginning ofthe school year and is so to minimise disruption and ensure smooth administration. The only exceptions to this position are in cases ofpupils who

are moving into the area and transferring from another school or become four years of age so soon after the 1$ of September as to be deemed unfair to make them wait until the following year to enrol.

In which cases the Board ofManagement reserve the right to preclude pupils fromenrolling until the first day ofthe following quarter after the enrolment application is made. In case of (b) above parents me still required to fulfil the enrolment conditions and procedures as set out below during the last two weeks of May before the enrolment.

ENROLMENT REQUIREMENTS:

LECKAIIN N.S. is a Catholic school which welcomes all pupils to enrol regardless ofrace or religious belief or lack of religious belief However, there are a number of stipulations, some Deparknent initiated and others school based, which we insist upon to make for smooth administration and harmonious school environment.

enrolees must be at least four years ofage before attending school. All enrolees must be registered by having the official school enrolment form (cfNext Page) filled and signed by their parents or guardians. Parents or guardians must read and sign up to the LECKAIIN N.S. Code of Conduct. All enrolees must have their School Uniformto attend school. A11 enrolees must have the appropriate textbooks and necessary materials before A11

attending school. The school will make the transport arrangements with regard to school bus services provided conditions Q) and (3) are met.

ENROLMENT PROCEDURE: We enrol our new pupils for the new school year during the SCHOOL OPERATIONAL days in JUNE for attendance in September. Enrolment forms, Codes of Conduct, booklist and any other relevant information is sent out to the parents or guardians of prospective enrolees in our catchment area. The Enrolment form is filled and signed and retumed to the school before the last operational day of JIINE. Parents or guardians then have 2* months to provide the uniform and books and other requisites fortheir children in time forthe re-opening ofthe school afterthe Summer Holidays.

EIIROLMENT FORM (PART TWO) LECKAUN N.S. is a Catholic school whose school plan is underpinned by its Catholic ettros. Our aim is to provide a safe, happy learning environment rvhere children's emotional, psychological, physical and moral development is catered for in addition to their academic progress. The school promotes, and expects from its pupils, a tolerance of different religious beliefs, and of those with no religious beliefs. We insist that our pupils respect each other and thatthey do nothing to undermine the beliefs oftheir fellow-pupils.

NOTE: Ifavailing ofthis option, the child must be brought away (HOME) from the school grounds to avoid distraction to the otherpupils.

While we/I do not wish our/my child to be taught the Catholic faith, we/I respect the rights ofthe other children to do so and weA will ensure that our/my children do or say nothing that would undermine or compromise this basic right to religious expression.
