What’s a county fair without highlighting the talent of area residents? The Santa Barbara County Fair displays the best of the best projects from jewelry- making, gardening, photography, and more in the Arts Pavilion. You’ll find everything from detailed quilts, to impressive place settings, and intricate origami. Some artists even provide demonstrations of their craft!

Support the agricultural efforts of local youth. Agriculture is such a big part of our community and the Fair proudly displays crops and ag exhibits grown and created by local youth. In the Agriculture Pavilion you’ll also discover youthcreated projects on which you can bid and possibly take something home.

All Day Events & Attractions Ride with the biggest little cowboys at the Santa Barbara County Fair. This cowboy comedy team has performed at more than 900 fairs and opened up at concerts for the likes of Lonestar and Kenny Chesney. They’ve even appeared on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno entertaining audiences with their interactive comedy routine as they ride aboard their “faux” miniature horses.

There’s something magical about bubbles. Seeing dozens of them floating delicately on the wind always seems to put smiles on faces. When Sterling Johnson creates bubbles, smiles turn to expressions of awe. He’s created hand-blown bubbles for more than 45 years, and he’s the only person to ever put a bubble inside a bubble inside a bubble on stage without using tubes or straws. If that’s not impressive enough he’s also the first person to walk completely through a bubble film.

PRESENTED BY COASTHILLS DAILY: 1:30, 3:30, 5:30 P.M. If you aren’t hungry when you sit down for Chef Landry’s Cajun Comedy Cooking Show, you will soon work up an appetite. He’ll serve up a taste of Bayou-style cuisine alongside tantalizing desserts, all while keeping you entertained with his special style of comedy. Chef Landry has served his spicy Cajun fare to senators, congressmen, celebrities, music luminaries, royalty, and presidents. Go ahead dig right in!

Do you hear that rumble? That unmistakable rhythm is none other than the Street Drum Corps. They are wild, raw, and enormously engaging. The Street Drum Corps., is worldrenown for its high-energy shows, its crazy choreographed routines, and the ability of its individual members to interact with audiences. You won’t be able to resist their beats!

PRESENTED BY RABOBANK Have fun with science! The Rabobank Wild Science! exhibit offers plenty of hands-on interactive learning opportunities for kids and their grownups. Play with captured lightening, test your wit with a collection of puzzles and brainteasers, or build whatever your imagination can dream up with foam or wood blocks, and magnetos. Jump inside a giant bubble, test your senses in the Common Scents table or the giant orb maze. Try your hand at the Slinky display and try to navigate a complicated path without sounding the buzzer. Whatever you do, you’ll find Wild Science! a wild experience!

PRESENTED BY COMMUNITY BANK OF SANTA MARIA Children laugh, giggle and squeal with delight at the chance to meet barnyard animals up close. Stop by the Ponyland Amusements Zoo and make a few new furry friends!

Gigantic in personality, enormously silly, and totally irresistible, there’s no missing the BC Characters! They will dance, bounce, roll around — anything to make you giggle. Beware, they may even sneak into your selfies — these characters love to take photos! Find these friendly, fluffy, figures bounding around the fairgrounds during the festival!

PRESENTED BY JACK’S PLUMBING All aboard! Sit back, take in the view, and leave the driving to Cowboy Ken. There’s no better way to get around the fairgrounds than on the Rawhide Ranch Trackless Train. Cruising around the grounds in the open-air train is a thrilling treat for the young ones, and just as fun for adults!

Occasionally, times call for some ridiculousness, and when there is outrageous silliness to be had this duo is on the job. Imagine two grown men in superhero costumes sitting atop 10-ft. unicycles and juggling, and you’ll begin to understand the hilarity that is Something Ridiculous. This energetic juggling comedy show will have you laughing while keeping you in awe as they quickly progress to juggling more astounding — and dangerous — objects.
