Step 1 Create a box by joining the sides (750 x 300 x 2) to the top (300 x 1568 x 1) and the bottom (300 x 1568 x 1). To do this, drill small pilot holes at the top and bottom of the sides by using a small drill bit. Sink the holes, apply wood glue and then screw the sides to the top and bottom pieces.
Step 2
Position the central divider (300 x 1568 x 1). Drill small pilot holes, sink the holes, apply wood glue and then fasten the central divider to the sides with screws.
Step 3 You are now ready to install the small shelves (351 x 300 x 6) on either side of the central divider. Measure carefully and space the shelves out equally. The space between each shelf should be 380 mm. You must now fasten each shelf with screws from the outside. Drill pilot holes, sink the holes and apply wood glue before inserting the screws. Start with the shelves on the one side and once these are completed, continue the ones on the opposite side. Make sure that all shelves are properly aligned to one another and squared up against the central divider. Finally use corner blocks to strengthen the joints.

Step 4
Screw the back panel (750 x 1600 x 1) to the shelf unit, using chipboard screws.
Tip:
To locate the centre point so that you can position the central divider (Step 2), place a precut small shelf piece against the bottom and against the top and mark the line with a pencil.
