Leeds Castle Foundation
Leeds Castle boasts over 900 years of rich history, particularly highlighting the influence of strong women. Initially owned by six medieval queens and later by Tudor queen Katherine of Aragon, the Castle eventually became the property of Lady Baillie in 1926. She undertook a significant refurbishment, collaborating with top French architects to transform it into an elegant residence.
Under Lady Baillie, Leeds Castle became a social hub, hosting lavish parties and attracting notable guests like royalty, politicians, cultural icons, and even Winston Churchill. This period established its reputation as a premier venue for high-society events.
Upon her passing, Lady Baillie entrusted the Castle to the Leeds Castle Foundation, a charitable trust dedicated to preserving it for public benefit. Today, Leeds Castle is a celebrated historical landmark and a popular tourist destination in the UK, blending its rich heritage with modern attractions.

By Car: Take Junction 8 off the M20 and follow the brown tourism signs to the estate.
