ABOUT THE COURSE Be instrumental in supporting children and young people’s development. Our foundation degree will introduce you to a range of subjects relating to childcare and education. ABOUT THE COURSE This course provides a theoretical and practical understanding of how to influence teaching, learning and assessment across multiple contexts in the post-16 sector. It’s available as a full-time or part-time route. The part-time route is for those in-service, anyone employed as teachers of post-16 learners.

The full-time route is for those pre-service; those who are not yet employed as teachers. You will cover various learning and pedagogical models, applying them to your own personal context. ABOUT THE COURSE This award doesn’t confer QTS but supports trainees to meet the standards for QTS. It’s aimed at teachers who are studying for, or already already hold, QTS, but not a PGCE. With this programme, you will critically analyse core teaching practices within the secondary school environment and will apply them to your own subject area. This course includes two work placement modules, allowing you to gain practical experience and understanding of working as a teacher within the secondary school environment. Trainees will spend two-thirds of the 36-week programme in a partnership school, and the remaining time in HE-based study at Teacher Development Centre. LEARNING AND SKILLS TEACHING APPRENTICESHIP LEVEL 5 (VALIDATED BY LEEDS CITY COLLEGE)

Trainees who complete this course take an analytical and practical approach to all aspects of planning, delivering and assessing inclusive teaching and learning in a post-14 environment. You cannot apply for this course directly, however, you may be eligible for it with your existing employer. Alternatively, you could apply directly for an apprentice teaching position. within all provisions within the education and training sector ranging from work-based learning to FE, adult and higher education contexts. Learning and skills teachers specialise in planning and delivering

LENGTH Part-time: 24 months minimum

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS Employers will set their own entry requirements. To be eligible for this apprenticeship you will need to have less than 50% of the recognised skills, knowledge or behaviours in teaching. Please note, you will also be subject to the entry requirements of the Certificate in Education.
