Message from Social Action Vice A Word From Special Programs Coordinator Hello, my name is Kelsey Culp and I am TIFTY's Special Projects Coordinator. My job on my youth group board is to raise money for Camp Rainbow. For those of you who do not know, Camp Rainbow is a one week summer camp for kids with cancer and other blood related diseases. This is such a special place, and if you have been there you would know it. Although I only visited the camp briefly, I could see the joy on each and every child's face, and it was impossible not to smile when I saw how much the campers loved it there. Camp Rainbow is important to me because I can remember camp being the favorite part of my summers growing up; and some of these kids would not have that experience if it wasn't
for this phenomenal camp. So far this year, I have held two small fundraisers along with several more still to come. I love every second of my fundraisers, planning included, because I have seen the end result; a place where kids can forget all their worries and truly have a fantastic week at camp. That alone, brings a smile to my face, and makes all the work worthwhile.

This year in TIFTY we are really trying to teach teens about mental illness. As Social Action Vice President I am really pushing towards teaching young teens what mental illness really is, and what we can do to help.
A Word From Vice President of Programing
Alex Jacks So far this year we have had many great programs. We hope to have many more enjoyable programs in the second part of the year that will include everyone and ensure that everyone has fun!
A Semester in Review By: Lee Goodman ( CVVP Communications and Visuals Vice President) This semester was really busy with different TIFTY events. TIFTY planned many events as well as participated in city wide NFTY programs. Some of the activities included going to the City Museum, Ice Skating, Bowling, a Haunted House, and Ted Drews . At the beginning of the semester we were given the privilege to lead the Learner’s Shabbat service which is once a month program. We are responsible for planning and leading the entire Learner’s Shabbat service. We make sure to include music, prayers, and a discussion of the weekly torah portion as part of our Learner’s Shabbat service. Our Learner’s Shabbat service has been very successful with a great turn out. Our TIFTY board is very proud of the great response we are getting from the congregation. After Learner’s Shabbat we go out to dinner which gives our group a wonderful opportunity to spend shabbat teaching as well as having a time for socializing. This year, as one of our fundraisers for TIFTY, we are selling coupon cards for $10 dollars each. TIFTY members reached out to local businesses who have graciously supported our youth group by extending discounts of their services or products for our coupon card. The coupon card has been very successful and anyone who is interested in buying a card please contact our youth director, Stephanie Rhea. We had a wonderful semester and have planned many great events for the coming semester which is going to be super fun and exciting.
