Integral UK Limited and University of Liverpool raise money for Liverpool Santa Dash and ITV’s Text Santa. RunLiverpool staged their eighth annual Santa Dash supporting ITV’s Text Santa fundraising appeal on Sunday 2nd December. Eight and a half thousand people gathered from all over the UK to participate. Olympic gymnast, Beth Tweddle and former Atomic Kitten Liz McClaren officially started the race as Liverpool took on Las Vegas once again, for the ‘Largest Santa Gathering’ in a bid to win the World Santa Dash Challenge. Liverpool city centre witnessed another brilliant turnout for the 2102 Santa Dash as young and old, fit and not so fit made their way around the 5K course from the Pier Head to finish outside a snow swept Town Hall.

The weather was cool but not cold, however the morning massed ranks of Santas gathered in front of the Liver Buildings all anxious to kick start Christmas in the best possible way. Phill Parry and the Integral engineering staff of University of Liverpool raised over £200 on the day to support the six UK charities such as Age UK, Anthony Nolan, Carers UK, Marie Curie Cancer Care, Together for Short Lives and Whizz-kidz. We would also say a big thanks to the University who donated an undisclosed amount to the Santa Dash Charities. Alan Rothwell who created the Santa Dash said, “Without a doubt this has been the biggest and best Santa Dash we’ve hosted. I’m waiting anxiously to hear the final numbers and I hope to be in a position to announce that we have beaten Vegas. Unfortunately we can’t claim the Guinness World Record, this year but we’ll be in a much stronger position to challenge in 2013. A big thank you to You can show your everyone who has taken part.” support by Texting Santa Merry Christmas one and all!
