MOQ RESIDENTIAL PROJECT .......................................................................................
MOQ is a residential project that consists of a residential tower, primary school and a high school building. The interior design concept for the residential units revolves around achieving opulence, intimacy and an overall ethereal mood through warm textiles, muted colors and soft furniture. The color palette uses a sophisticated combination of pastel colors and metallics adding an opulent glamour to the space. Pastels, also called spring colors, are soothing, but at the same time energizing. Their fresh nature bring light and softness into a room. In addition using pastel elements and accessories can be incorporated in both solid colors and patterns such as floral, stripes, dots, botanicals and abstract designs. Depth is achieved by using a backdrop of pastel colors and textures with deeper and more vibrant color accents.

This Project aims to revive and document the beautiful art and culture of Mesopotamia, which is modern day Iraq. This is achieved through spaces that symbolize and carry certain ideologies, events and feelings associated with different time periods. The project aims to explore the theory of deconstruction that was best depicted in James Joyce’s novel Ulysses and thoroughly investigated by the philosopher Jacques Derrida. The project highlights the following four aspects of the theory: 1. There is an origin without which nothing can exist 2. Nothing can have meaning or value without its opposite 3. History consists of an infinite cycle of ups and downs 4. All boundaries are blurred, for example the boundaries between interior and exterior space
