DAYS WITH DANDEKAR Written/Directed by Leena Pendharkar Produced by Jane Kelly Kosek
Forced into retirement, RK Dandekar wiles away his empty days in his old Volvo, wandering around town. Concerned for his well-being, his daughters trade in his beloved old Volvo for a brand new one, thinking it will cheer him up.
But RK is devastated by the loss and sets out on a journey to get his beloved car back. Along the way, he meets a cast of random characters who help him reflect on the past, and find a renewed purpose. Ultimately, he realizes that what really matters in life is love.
Tone: Neorealism
Mixed with very dry humor and strangeness.
Style: Understated acting, natural lighting and heavy use of negative space
With the juxtaposition of American suburbia vs nature, against pops of color.
And locations that show the heart of American Suburbia.
My husband’s dad
Me and my husband
Inspiration: People and their cars
My dad/mom
And my dad in real life
