The Gas Station Grocery Store
M.Arch 2.1 - Fall 2018
Site Plan
It was interesting to re-imagine the place where we do grocery shopping in an area that experiences a food dessert. Salem, VA. The site had an existing gas station that people talked about as part of their memories but now pass by and not notice, so I decided to keep it and intervene on it and on the site in a way that invites people in. This creates a new dynamic that shows the potential of the site and re-state the question of “what happened to the gas station? for people again.
BEFORE The site includes an existing gas station. The design intended to keep parts of the gas station and introduce the new program into the existing volume.
AFTER The design provides a bus shelter -first encounter to the street. The existing building is used for storage and circulation while the introduced form hosts the grocery store.
Third Year- Bachelor- Fall 2015
This is medical center for a small village in lebanon, the project follows a simple form and maximized functionality through easy visual axes to circulation and common spaces.

The 7 heavens mosque- Tripoli
Third year- Bachelor - Spring 2016
“So [Allah] decreed them as seven heavens (one above the other) in two days and revealed to each heaven its orders. - [Quran 41.12] In designing a religious building ; the concept was inspired by the above verse of the Quran. The mosque resembles 7 layers separated by openings that allow dim light to penetrate into the interior space. The plan of the mosque is inspired by pure holy shapes- the circle and the ellipse that bound the project.
The Musala inscribed in a circle - resembling purity, perfection and holiness
The interior of the mosque is influenced by the organic shape in a way that led it to look like a cave - to portray the image of Ghar Hirak; the cave where the islamic prophet Mohamad received his prophecy.
Another form of spirituality- the Ellipse , embracing the mosala to connect the projects elements

Traditional Lebanese Housing
The project was an exercise of our knowledge in the traditional lebaenese typology, it was interesting to investigate the unique elements in our traditional architecture and try to implement it in our project. the compound is made up of 4 villas, 3 residential buildings and a restaurant. the twisting aspect of my design is using a new volumetric language that contrasts the traditional elements of the facades. that is clear in the villas.
Second Year- Bachelor-2015
Extension of Alvar Alto & Central Finland Museum
Competition-2015
The competition was to design a small extension between 2 of finland’s museums. In my design I used Shimmering stainless steel to reflect the surrounding and the image of the museums. Where this link conveys transparency, fluidity and transition from one zone to the other. In addition that it will be an interesting feature of the project that will attract visitors and simultaneously camouflage in the context without dominating over the presence of th 2 museums.
