DESIGN DEVELOPMENT
Modular shoe upper, different shoe soles can be attached to shoe through magnet. Various options of shoe soles (recycled rubber sole, air max sole, customize 3D printed sole)

INITIAL IDEATION
1|4 Sustainable shoe as sole can be replaced at the end of its life. Extending the shoes overall life span. 3D printing allows for customization to user’s foot and personalization to their personal style. In store sole customization & personalization User feet are scanned by Nike employee. User can choose from the various Nike lines (eg airmax) or a fully personalization 3D printed sole. The user can choose the colors, patterns and materials for the shoe sole. Which can be printed in store.

FINAL DESIGN
Basic shoe upper comes with default sole, in which user to purchases and customizes. Soles include 3D printed personalized soles that can replace the default sole. Attached Through the magnet found in shoe upper and sole.
Online shoe customization & personalization User scans feet online, through the Nike app. Similar to instore personalization user can create their own shoe sole. User can choose the 3D printing option for ultimate customization or opt for one of the existing Nike soles.

DESIGN BRIEF To design and develop a two part torch with a guiding rope in between, to guide users on groups hikes and keep the group together ensuring safety in harsh weather conditions hiking Snowdon
PROBLEM Around 2000 people get lost while hiking each year. Weather conditions can get harsh on Snowdon, with low clouds, fierce winds and freezing temperatures making visibility low and sticking to a group impossible. Hiking has also become increasingly popular throughout the pandemic.

3|4 User carries torch in back bag, can be used as one single torch. Wrist strap prevents dropping the torch
Twist fit mechanism allows the user to detach the two parts of the torch
FINAL DESIGN
One person can pull the back end of the torch to the desired length. By pushing the brake to fix it to that length. The length of the rope can be adjusted by pulling back the brake button
When torch is fully twisted user can pull one end of the torch to detach
After using the torch/ rope: the front part of the torch can be retracted to the back torch, by pulling back the break button
