We are good to go on the 12 12 13

We are good to go on the 'WINTER WONDERLAND' party Christmas presents and bazaar on the 12th. Using a similar formula to the Halloween party we will encourage OAPs to come along from 2 o'clock and smaller people from 3-5 then teenagers from 4-10. As accurate a description as I can give at the moment: The stands are being made by Duane to be easy to set up and dismantle for reuse. They will be to all intents and purpose tables with four up right posts on each corner. This is so we can attach card board which can be designed and painted to represent whatever we imagine. Very kindly my friends at Hedley's Hampers down the road who have a shipping company give us used large sheets of card board. I had hoped to invite either schools or individuals to decorate a stand in the image they wanted. US will decorate three as ginger bread houses each slightly differently. I think it might be a fun project for OAPs as the cardboard can be laid on a table and is light so easy to work with alternatively fabric can be stapled to the structure and draped over the top anything creative. The Stands at the moment are as follows 1 photography 2 vintage clothes 3 vintage clothes 4 Christmas decorations such as wreaths and centre pieces 5 cakes and food (need more of this) 6 second hand but in perfect condition children and infants clothes for sale at very low prices 7 second hand but in very good condition children's toys and prams car seats etc. 8 wrapping table need some additional volunteers have paper and ribbon and tags people pay a small fee for the wrapping to cover costs 9 and 1o Polish, Romanian and Albania tables 10 Arts and Crafts (would love volunteers for this‌ making Christmas crackers, knitting scarfs, making Christmas Ornaments, could run workshops over next few weeks if wanted) 11 Drinks as we cannot serve mulled wine we will try something else but we will serve tea and biscuits for a small price we will need to set up tables and chairs so OAPs can sit Have space for more stands Entertainment for the young we will have a magician for two hours on the stage but before that we would like to play Christmas carols and have music the OAPs would like may be next year we can give them a tea dance

The teenagers can have a DJ and dance till 10 BUT IT IS A SCHOOL NIGHT SO MAY BE TILL 8 this needs thinking through as they may also be having exams Additional entertainment could be local bands or Harlesden Young Voices if this date suits them may be a dance competition with great prizes. This is just where we are now and it is a community project so US is happy to include any one's suggestions. We will need to think of a way to charge either through things sold or at the door to cover costs of the rental and preparation as well as the expenses of magician and DJ. Best regards Serena Balfour
