Castleton Festival
Founded in 2009 by Maestro Lorin Maazel and
Dietlinde Turban Maazel, the Castleton Festival introduced classical music, theater and opera to the rolling hills of Rappahannock County. Castleton has been a vista-opener for over 3,000 young people through open dress rehearsals, master classes and through its Young Artists Training Seminar.
Child Care and Learning Center
CCLC is a 501c3 nonprofit offering child care, preschool, and afterschool programs for children ages 6 weeks to 12 years. We support affordable child care for all families and 60% of CCLC’s students receive full tuition assistance. CCLC has been in continuous operation since 1976 and is accredited through Virginia Quality and the National Association for the Education of Young Children. CCLC uses the evidence-based Creative Curriculum.
Family Futures
FamilyFutures, a Rappahannock 501(c)3 nonprofit, works to advance life skills through financial education and matching savings. Every public school kindergartner receives a personal savings account and opportunities to earn additional deposits while growing financial and life skills through graduation. All residents can access group or one-on-one financial education to plan for the future and manage life challenges.

For the Cats’ Sake
For the Cats’ Sake is a non-profit organization dedicated to spaying and neutering stray, feral and domesticated cats, and finding homes for adoptable cats and kittens through our foster based rescue. Our goal is to stabilize and reduce the cat population, by providing low and nocost spay/neutering services, and running a TNR (trap, neuter & return) program to assist residents. We also provide food, shelter and medical assistance to community cats in need.
CASTLETON FESTIVAL
is a year-round multicultural resource enriching the Piedmont Region’s texture of music & theatrical-related events, offering free life-changing Residencies for Young Professional Artists as well as interactive Community Events and Performances ranging from Opera to Classical to Jazz to World Music, Theater, Dance, Mime, Summer Camps for Children and Yoga. Generations Central Adult Day Center
A collaborative effort between Rappahannock Rapidan Community Services, Aging Together, Culpeper Baptist Church, Culpeper Baptist Child Development Center, George Mason University and many other community partners propelled us to the opening of Generations Central in March 2022. Our beautifully renovated space on the first floor of Culpeper Baptist Church hosts a vibrant activity program for the senior adults in our community.

Hearthstone

John Jackson Piedmont Blues Festival
The John Jackson Piedmont Blues Festival is designed to pay tribute to Rappahannock native son, blues musician, John Jackson. John was a 1986 NEA National Heritage Fellow. A historic marker noting the location of Jackson's birthplace was erected by the state of Virginia in Woodville in 2005. This year's festival will be September 30 at Eldon's Clover Hill Farm.
Kid Pan Alley
Kid Pan Alley’s mission is to inspire creativity, build confidence, and foster community among children of all ages through the group songwriting process. Founded in 1999, Kid Pan Alley has written over 2,800 songs with over 80,000 children in schools across the country, from Virginia to Hawaii.

Sperryville Volunteer Fire Department

Rappahannock County Soccer Association provides a healthy and safe environment for Rappahannock children to exercise and develop team-building skills while learning the great game of soccer. Rappahannock County Soccer Association is managed entirely by volunteers. We offer two seasons per year (~5 months of soccer in total) and maintain a recreational soccer league that includes games against surrounding counties. We don't receive any financial support from Rappahannock County and rely solely on donations and player registration fees to cover basic costs.
Scrabble School Preservation Foundation
The Sperryville Volunteer Fire Department was founded in 1947 to serve and protect our local community. As a gateway to Shenandoah National Park, we face the risk of brush and forest fires, as well as fighting house fires and launching rescue operations for auto, farm accidents, and natural disasters. The Northern Piedmont Community Foundation (NPCF) began in December 2000 when nine concerned citizens from Virginia’s Piedmont region were searching for solutions to the charitable needs in Culpeper, Fauquier, Madison, and Rappahannock counties.
With modest beginnings, our funds have grown to over $39 million in support of local charities, scholarships and community needs in our northern piedmont region.
