50/50 The project’s principle is living in the collective housing as one lives in the family house, the inhabitant lives as mush outside that inside . This is translated by a tower with the half of his spaces indoors and the other half outside . This principle is governed by a vertical circulation serving all double height gardens giving themselves access to the apartments . the Empty obtained through the gardens allows to obtain non glazed facades and connections between the terraces.

POVEGLIA ISLAND Competition M-Arch / Housing New way to live Venice Honorable Mention

A clear and simple form around the island of Poveglia and welcomes a new residential batts area taking into account the surrounding natural environment. This housing project is divided into three circular floors. The level of water as an input, but also parking for boat. The first floor is characterized by a free space that can be used as an artist’s studio , storage space for fisher or even a space for family games. The second floor welcomes apartments of various typologies. Finally the roof turned into a promenade allowing the connection of all in the form of a green belt structure. This belt allows the creation of an aquatic area in which there are diviserses and varied activities such as fishing , sports , theater ... As for the island, it becomes a productive and public space from the fields and shops that occupy it .

Work done with Siciliani Andrea, Freire AndrĂŠ and Brutto Filippo.

PARK OF MONSANTO Competition NOM / ArqFolium Nature Observatory Of Monsanto

The project for the Natural Observatory of Monsanto is based on the recovery of the ancestral relationship between human and nature. This recovery is done in 5 pavillons, each one triggers one of the 5 senses in order to feel the nature. Touch. Two simple walls generate an interior space seen as a corridor where the path is invaded by nature. Sight. A tower opened in three differents levels. Firstly, the interaction between man and nature. Secondly, the natural life over the treetops. Thirdly, the landscape intended as a set of natural environments and a place where man lives and carries outs his actions. Hearing. A circular fence. The wall of this environment create a space of deep concentration excluding the unnecessary noise by preserving the essence of the nature: its sound. Smell. Two spaces. Firstly, a fence that isolates the space from its context, where nature is smelt. Secondly, the greenhouse which extracts this smell from nature. Taste. An orange garden. Central point of the entire project, where human and nature meet themselves by planting, raising and feeding. The panoramic restaurant is finally re-used as one of the doors of the Architectural Park of senses. A timeless observatory as a scenario of explorations and interactions is placed in a commun and constantly changing space. The landscape and the architecture become a vehicle of the return to an ancestral relationship between human and nature. Work done with Siciliani Andrea.

COMMUNITY MARKET Competition Ctrl + Space Istanbul, Community Market Honorable Mention

The suburban territory of Istanbul can be used to explain the term melting pot: a mix of people walking in the same streets and sharing the same experiences in a different way. This leaves a permanent sign on the way of living and feeling the city. That generated a clear contamination between the different trade activities and the way of living public space, in a continuous overlapping of ways disciplines and crafts. Streets and alleys acquire the meaning of “urban room” as a place of exchange and crossing point. The streets are the limit in which human relations occur. So the limit acts on an active contest and entails a precariousness, a stable communication between the parts. The direct relation between the city, the land contours, and the collectivity, is the origin of is languages. The line on which things happen. The design choice was made in the continuity of these considerations; the architecture of the market merges the programmatic space with the public space. The programmatic space is contained in a strip where all the programs are located and compressed by the public space. As in Istanbul, the exchanges take place into the programmatic strip and extend themselves into the public space inside the building. The purpose is to open the market’s public space towards the city as the continuity of the city’s public space in order to make of this building not only a market but a place of sharing cultures, events, business, and meeting each other. That’s why the project is focused around a big patio, which can be used for different types of events, and people can also appropriate it in different ways. In this building, the market is the main component to form a place where the city enters and its habitants can act like in the streets.

Work done with Siciliani Andrea.
