The ever popular Showzam! Carnival Ball is back for 2016 with the theme of ‘Decadence through the Ages.’ Hosted by your delectable MC for the evening Miss Abigail Collins. From the roaring twenties to the swinging sixties, the excess of the eighties and into a new millennium, Showzam! Carnival Ball celebrates decadence throughout the decades. Dress to impress from your favourite era and enjoy a riotous journey through the entertainment of the last 100 years. Flappers showing rather more than a glimpse of stocking, silver screen sirens, dapper swinging gents and rock n’ rollers will rub shoulders with hepcats, hippies and disco divas, for a night of comedy, variety and burlesque. After the show you’ll be treated to The Electric Swing Circus, a 6-piece fusion of saucy 20’s swing and stomping electro beats. Hot on their heels is suave and dapper DJ The Earl of Ealing with an eclectic mix of jazz, swing, disco, funk, electroswing and maybe the odd show tune – expect to dance. 7pm doors, 8pm show, 2am carriages 18 years + £25 floor side tables £20 balcony seats Visit www.showzam.co.uk or call 01253 290190 to book

Alexandra Hofgartner will fly high with her stunning aerial performance blending burlesque, circus and cabaret into beautiful narratives. Claudia Contortionista will bring the very highest of circus skills with her signature piece ‘the Marinella Bend’. Rodney & Alexandra team up to a place where the bizzare becomes the normal and theatre and glamour are turned on their heads. Set to a soundtrack of The Dresend Dolls ‘Missed Me’ this act is sexy, funny and beautifully strange. Stunning jazz soul diva Coco Malone with ‘a voice like chocolate poured over hot coals’ and a musical repertoire spanning from the 1920s right up to today will send shivers down your spine. Extraordinary people, places and art.

The Fylde Coast is increasing its arts profile nationally and internationally. It has some of the most iconic performance venues in the country, a growing number of international festivals of performance and art, a wealth of contemporary art galleries and artist studios and an expanding body of artists wanting to live and work in this part of the country. LeftCoast is a new arts programme funded by Arts Council England aiming to support this aspirational growth of arts and culture across Blackpool and Wyre. If you want to get involved or find out more about what’s happening in your neighbourhood sign up at www.leftcoast.org.uk, follow us on Twitter @LeftCoastUK or like us on Facebook at www.fb.com/LeftCoastUK
