Karlsruhe and Nottingham This year commemorates 50 years of friendship between Nottingham and Karlsruhe, our twin city in south west Germany. The original twinning took place in Karlsruhe in July 1969; with the two Lord Mayors sealing a partnership with a handshake. To mark the anniversary, special events and celebrations will be taking place in both cities throughout the year. nottinghamkarlsruhe50.com
