NCBW21 Events Booklet

Page 1

At the start of March 2020 a group of delegates from Nottingham Craft Beer Week (NCBW) went to Beer X in Liverpool for the annual awards hosted by the Society of Independent Brewers (SIBA). We won an award that night for ‘Best UK Craft Beer Promotion,’ national recognition for the many years of work put in by ourselves and the people in the bars we work with in Nottingham. It turned out to be the last event any of us would attend for some time. In the car on the way back we heard the Prime Minister talking on the radio about an emerging thing called coronavirus. Within a week pubs across the nation were being told to close their doors for public safety. Life as we know it would change forever. The many months since have taken a serious toll on everyone, but in particular on the beer and hospitality industry. So as you celebrate with us again this NCBW, please spare a thought for all those who work for and within the Nottingham bars and beer scene. They need your custom now more than ever. It’s all going to be a bit different this year and our key events are ticketed so we can manage capacity. If you want to come along please be organised and get your tickets in advance. We’re very glad to be back. Long live Nottingham pubs and Nottingham Craft Beer Week! Jared Wilson Director, Nottingham Craft Beer Week
