MENTAL PREPARATION IS SURELY A SUBJECT THAT TOUCHES MOST OF YOU ATHLETES!
Roland Garros tournament, or simply the Tour de France, are seasonal events that perfectly illustrate how mental control is part of the performance and of course, of a positive, victorious outcome. Look at all these champions…they control their mind! The stronger mind wins. Valuable techniques exist, I am sure you know them, but what about making them even easier and more efficient with the help of a few essential oils? Here is a list of what is commonly used to make our mental work for us during a challenging physical effort and the essential oils that can make the difference and help you win. 1. Increase, refresh your selfesteem and believe in yourself. You cannot afford to doubt yourself. Cleaning up any negative thoughts or emotions you may carry about yourself is not always easy, so here is a little technique that works for me and millions of people all over the world: Ho’oponopono, secret of the Hawaiian healers. Very simple: • Have in mind the thought you would like to erase from your head. For instance, lets say your parents used to joke about you being a

fragile little thing and since then, you always doubt your physical strength. • Don’t fight anymore with this bothering thought of yourself : accept it, own it, welcome it as a valuable part of yourself. To help yourself do it, place one drop of Origanum majorana essential oil in your hand and smell it. This is the oil of acceptance, use it, let it help you in the process of letting go of your negative self image.
• Then, start this cleansing breathing exercise: Inhale, hold your breath, exhale, hold your breath, each time counting 7 in your head. Repeat the sequence 9 times and make sure you can smell Origanum majorana while you breathe. If you really want to benefit from Ho’oponopono, you have to use its “healing mantra” which is: “sorry, forgive me, thank you, I love you”, addressed to yourself. Think it, or say it, right after the breathing exercise.

2. Replace you negative thoughts with positive ones is also very important. Do not let your subconscious mind tell you the others are better than you or this is too difficult for you. Be the spectator of your thoughts, catch them as they appear, and switch them for the opposite. For instance : if you catch “ This is crazy, I cannot win” don’t wait for the emotion that follows that type of thought to appear and think instantly “This is crazy but I can do it”, then welcome the positive emotion that comes from it. The essential oil that will help you calm your mind and bring patience is Anthemis nobilis. Prepare a blend with 5 drops of this essential oil in one tablespoon of grape-seed oil and massage you arms and chest with it before the competition. If the emotion that really overwhelms you is anxiety, then prepare your blend in grape-seed oil with 3 drops of Anthemis nobilis and 2 drops of Litsea cubeba essential oil, so uplifting we call it the happy oil. This cardiac tonic is also very good to relieve fatigue, lethargy, insomnia and nervous breakdown. 3. Increase your endurance and physical strength by distracting your mind from pain and fatigue. • Count your steps with your fingers, • picture yourself climbing stairs up and down, • chant yourself your own magic mantra…. • and help yourself with the power of Rosemarinus officinale. Extensively used to relieve muscular pain, tendinitis and muscle spasms, this essential oil is also a good cardio-vascular tonic that gives mental and physical strength, while boosting your immunity. You can add a few drops of this oil in any massage oil of your choice or make you own massage oil blending • one tablespoon of grape-seed

oil as a base, • 2 drops of Rosemary essential oil, • 2 drops of Anthemis nobilis • and 2 drops of Litsea cubeba. Massage any part of your body with this blend, but do not forget your chest so you can breath is during the effort and benefit from the instant impact it has on your hypothalamus gland, your body’s principal balance regulator, responsible for proper homeostasis, whatever the internal and external conditions you have to deal with.

HALF OLYMPIC TRIATHLON IN HAFNARFJÖRðUR ICELAND Last weekend,
Team Compressport Iceland took part in the Intersport Half Olympic Triathlon hosted by the biggest triathlon club in Iceland, 3SH. Unlike previous competitions, the weather was great and many people improved their times. Birna Björnsdóttir won the women´s division with a big margin but she is unbeaten this season and it will be difficult for other competitors to catch her. Birna is aiming for the Age Group world championships in Olympic Triathlon in London in September and she is a contender for a medal in the AG 40-44.

Next weekend, Team Compressport Iceland will participate in MTB competition (55km) which takes place in the southern part of Iceland

IN ICELAND
Trail running is gaining more popularity every year in Iceland and many towns and cities host races to attract visitors. Team Compressport Iceland participated in Haukar Trail Run in Hafnarfjörður last weekend but the race was 17,5km trail run in a hilly landscape on narrow paths. In the men´s division, Birgir Sævarsson was 1st, Friðleifur Friðleifsson 5th, Pétur Smári Sigurgeirsson 12th and in the women´s division, Elísabet Margeirsdóttir took 2nd place, only about 1 minute from 1st place. COMPRESSPORT UT COLLSEROLA THE MOST METROPOLITAN RACE IN A HUGE NATURAL ENVIRONTMENT
FIRST EDITION WILL TAKE PLACE ON NOVEMBER 23RD, 2013. The Ultratrail de Collserola, the large loop to the Barcelona’s biggest park – Parc Natural de Collserola – is the first single stage mountain ultramarathon race that starts and finishes in the city of Barcelona. The race is semi-self sufficiency kind of and covers approximately 74km of paths and roads in the park. The route crosses the nine townships that share some parts of the park. Parc de Collserola is the backyard for more than 2 million population in the metropolitan area. This huge green area to play and relax is substantial to quality of life for residents and visitors. WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP Melissa continued her great 2013 form with another World Championship, this time the ITU Long Distance Triathlon. Extreme weather changed the format of the event into a Duathalon and also forced Mel to put on addittional clothing during T1 to keep warm. This move paid off well with Mel taking the lead during the Final 10km of the race.

Dennis Forsman TEAM Compressport Sweden The club Ullevi Vikingen got silver in the 4x400men at the Swedish championships, Dennis Forsman ran the second leg in a outstanding time of 47:2 sec. which shows he is in great shape for the upcoming season.
From May 16th to 19th, Compressport Sweden was present at the EXPO at Gรถteborgsvaret which is the biggest half marathon in the world. Altogether in 2012, 44,094 runners finished the race and set a record for most half-marathon finishers in the history of runnning. This year, over 65.000 people were signed up for the race and a new record was expected to be set. The EXPO was a great success and the Swedes really appreciated the products from Compressport. Great weekend in the cold and rainy Sankt Pรถlten (A) last Sunday for the Mario Huys PRO Team members Nicole Bretting and Dorian Wagner. Because of the very bad weather, the OK decided to simply cancel the swim. No problem for our two athletes! Nicole finished 15th overall and 1st. amateur, Dorian 4th overall a couple of minutes behind Eneko Llanos (3rd), Andi Bรถcherer (2nd) and Bart Aernouts (1st), some of the fastest guys worldwide! Congratulations and see you soon in Berlin, Klagenfurt or Frankfurt :-) IM Brasil - Silvia Felt 9th place and fastest bike split After some frustrating month with a lot of injuries, the Ironman France Champion 2011 is coming back step by step. After her 10th place in Mallorca (IM 70.3) 2 weeks ago, Silvia decided to race the full Ironman distance in Brasil. Good swim, very strong bike with the fastest bike split of the day and and the second place in T2 and a solid run with some "problems" to finish 9th knowing, she is on the right way :-) Here her last FB posting: "after a quite good preparation with tapering and "all you can

eat - pasta days" race day morning began quite good. Perfect conditions with almost no wind and the sun was just coming out. With less than 1 hour swim, I achieved my personal best time on the swim, Rk 13. The fastest bike split on the course brought me up to position 2 for the run. But then almost half way through I had to slow down because of some physical problems. So, finally I just ended up with the 9th place. Big Thanks to all the thoughts and thumbs I received from friends & family back home ... hopefully I can bring it home a bit better next time:-) www.compressport.com

FIRST INTERNATIONAL RACE AND 11TH PLACE FOR MARKUS HĂ–RMANN
First big race for Markus in Rimini, with the "Challenge Family" and nobody else that "Mr. Triathlon" himself, Mr. Chris Macca McCormack the new Challenge Family ambassador:-) After a good swim, 3' behind Macca, Markus tried to push hard on the very hard bike course (90k, 1300m and 18%) but after his problem beginning of the season, he his missing a couple of Watt on the bike and came 10th in T2. Markus ran a very solid and carefully half marathon in 1:18, the 7th best run split of the day, finishing 16" behind top ten! Great race Markus and very promising for the future :-)

XTERRA SPRINT IN GUADALAJARA CITY Big weekend for our athletes in Xterra sprint in Guadalajara City taking the first place in men and women elite. Irving Pérez for the third year took the 1st. Place with a huge diference from the others. Fabiola Corona got the 1st. Place in elites women categorie taking also considerable difference from the other girls. Congrats Irving and Fabiola! For second year Compressport Mexico made an Special edition R2“ Xterra Mexico Custom 2013” and many people wanted to have them. Many fans,friends and athletes were coming to visit our stands during the weekend and were amazed with the new product as the Trail Range that we are launching.

In Whistler for the always competitive Whistler Half Marathon, Catrin Jones of Victoria, BC would pick up another win on the season at the half marathon distance only 1 week after Canadian Marathon Championships! Nicely done Catrin!!
Rachel McBride of Vancouver, BC raced at the ITU Long Course Triathlon World Championships. Cold weather forced them to change to a duathlon, but that wouldn't slow her down! Rachel came in 3rd place overall while fellow Compressport athlete Melissa Hauschildt would take the win!

through the magic Cathares Castles (Perperthuse, Queribus...). it was the road of the Lords in the year 1000 Later Jésus Crist. it was a magic race through the time. Roland, in spite of strain at km 13, lead the race up to the km 35 and finished carefuly the 48 km (3080 D+) at 3rd position"
