For a junior player at a club or school a matchday coaching clinic is the best day out in sports! Whether it’s a fun skills session for any level or an in-depth focus on a particular area for your team, we’ll speak with your group beforehand and tailor the session to your needs using our professional community and academy coaches. Your group will meet a Leicester Tigers player for a Q&A session before joining us at Welford Road to watch the likes of George Ford, Manu Tuilagi, Jonny May and Ellis Genge and have a half time photo on the pitch.

TRAIN AT OUR TRAINING GROUND New for 2019/20 we have a unique opportunity to train at Leicester Tigers training ground - Oval Park - before joining us for the big match. Our Matchday Coaching Clinic Pro group will be the only group at the training ground and will enjoy a tour of our state of the art facilities, including our covered 4G pitch along with more time with our academy coaches and a player on the day. We know this experience will be really popular...so please get in touch with the team ASAP.
All this and a matchday too.. After your training session it is all about matchday for your group. You’ll get 80 minutes of hits, skills, work and flair from our top Tigers before getting out on the pitch at half time in front of up to 25,000 supporters to have your team photo.
The coaches working with the kids at the clinic were great, the kids all really enjoyed it and we let the guys get on with it, us coaches were watching instead. Guard of Honour THE TIGERS ARE COMING - Our most popular experience puts you right there at kick-off as the Tigers’ 1st XV thunder out on to the pitch to our famous Smoke on the Water. Only available for a maximum of 24 people and including a special t-shirt early booking is essential for the guard.
Flag Shaker For larger groups who want to be part of it when the match is kicking off we have the Flag Shaker. Helping to build the matchday atmosphere on the pitch with our giant Tigers flags, up to 100 people of all shapes and sizes can be a part of it all. Free t-shirt included.

Prima Tiger Cup Our famous under 10’s cup welcomes teams from across the country to join us at one of our qualifying festivals at Mellish, Tamworth, Swaffham or Lutterworth to earn a trip through their teamwork, discipline, and sportmanship to Welford Road and the chance to play on the pitch. Tigers stars such as Louis Deacon, Ben White and Sam Harrison have all played in the Prima Tiger Cup and it is a truly fantastic experience for all aspiring players.
Festivals Throughout the season we offer the chance for age groups from under 7’s to under 12’s to take part in our exciting pre match festivals and have the opportunity to play against teams from around the country before coming to Welford Road for a match at our great group days prices.

We always enjoy coming back and taking part in all the matchday build-up at Welford Road, for some it’s their first time but for others they are now professionals. Every time we are asked if we would like to take part the kids get so excited and it’s become a part of our rugby calendar at Melton.

It was good out there on the pitch and a little intimidating, but I managed to hold my nerve. I saw the ball coming down towards me and I just thought ‘Oh no, I’m going to have to catch this’. It didn’t help that it was freezing out there, but I can now say that I have played at Welford Road!

The clinic was excellent, very, very good and our coach was very thorough, very in-depth and worked on the things we as a club wanted too. I also learnt a lot on how to deal with the kids, they were very good interacting with them and had a few tricks on how to get them to behave and pay attention at some points, plus some tricks on passing which I as a coach managed to pick up and will use in future training sessions. It’s been excellent from start to finish, it’s been good, and it’s a great team bonding day out.

Being on the pitch is brilliant, and it’s made the players’ day. The whole day has been really good fun and I think getting to see their international heroes on the pitch makes it truly real to them.

Tigers engaging with grassroots clubs is massive, it gives the lads an opportunity to understand how the game works and see what it takes to really succeed, it’s also a really good way to finish the season.
Bury St. Edmunds RFC group day Prima Tiger Cup has been great, it’s well organised, good rugby and the enthusiasm from the fans and kids is fantastic. It’s what rugby is all about. A lot of the kids are now Tigers fans so it’s a big thing for them and look around you, floodlights, stands, colours, banners, it’s what every kid dreams of.

Being this close to the action and feeling included in such a big club shows the group that there is a way through, our club feels close to Tigers and we feel that they look after us from the top down.

This is the first time we’ve taken part as official flagshakers and it’s been a great experience, to be walking out on the same pitch as the players is unbelievable. We couldn’t fit this in last year but it’s been worth the wait and just to see the kids faces make it all worth it and we’re hoping to come back and do a matchday coaching clinic session too.

We have brought everybody from undersix to under-15s and I think coming here encourages them all to stick with the game. Tigers engaging with the community motivates the kids to keep playing the game and they get to see a top-flight game, how it can be played and what the game should look like when it is played well.
