Going to a Leicester Tigers Rugby Camp is a great way to develop your skills and understanding of the game. The coaching ideas come straight from the professionals at the club, giving young players a brilliant opportunity to improve all areas of their game. I remember going to the Tigers Camps myself and it’s great to see so many enthusiastic young players, boys and girls, enjoying themselves on the programme now.

THE PROFESSIONAL WAY
CAMP
R E Y A PLDEVELOPMENT
As English rugby’s most successful team, we offer the highest level of rugby coaching at our camps. Camps form part of our player development which include our residential camps for U13s – U18s, providing the opportunity to take on our elite training programme, working with peers in an intensive environment and giving an insight into the life of a professional rugby player. Our specialist Masterclasses held at Welford Road for U11s – U16s and U18s for girls, give players the chance to hone in on specific skills with specialist coaches, often ex-Tigers themselves. Masterclasses complement both the residential and core rugby camps with the chance to focus on one aspect of play. For U9s – U15s our core rugby camps are the perfect lead up to the residential, where players can train each day at a local venue with Tigers coaches in their school holidays. For our younger players we start our camp pathway with TAG camps for U7s – U8s, perfect for a fun introduction to the core values in rugby; enjoyment, teamwork and sportsmanship.
As well as superior coaching, our camps include a hot lunch, rugby ball, Tigers water bottle, camp t-shirt and a FREE junior match ticket to an allocated game.

RESIDENTIAL CAMPS
LEICESTER TIGERS
E K I L N I A R T PRO! A Our Residential Camps Our residential camp is the perfect opportunity to improve your young player’s game whilst immersing themselves in a focused and dedicated rugby environment. They will get the chance to take on our elite rugby training programme, build their knowledge on specific areas of the game as well as working with their peers in an intensive professional environment with our academy and community coaches. In 2019 we welcomed over 140 young players from all corners of the globe on our residential camp. Visitors for the boys during the week included guest coaches Ben White: current first team scrum half, England U20 coach Ant Allen and team GB judo coach Wayne Lakin. During the week players completed their own personal development plans which encouraged them to look at feedback and feedforward, as well as understanding their own wellbeing and preparation to train by monitoring specific measurements. These gave an indication of the impact of the previous day’s workload as well as recording their perceived rate of exertion. Additionally our leadership workshops gave us a great opportunity to see who lead and who followed, and our night in Big Fun Hull, an adventure play area, gave the players a chance to get off site and let off steam.

Y B G U R S P M A C s 5 1 U s 9 U Players – What can you expect at a Rugby Camp?
Our most popular holiday rugby camps are our full day camps, run over four or five days. Included in the camps are 4 hours of activities and coaching under the guidance of Leicester Tigers each day, a focus on fitness and rugby skills as well as the chance to improve fundamental movement skills over the course of the week.
All about contact From U9’s and above, we begin to introduce young players to the contact-based games and technical skill breakdowns within managed sessions, that we believe are important for each player to develop their own awareness, understanding and decision making abilities. Exercises such as tackle techniques, wrestling techniques and a player’s bodyshape at the breakdown are important skills that introduce and prepare young players for contact, before implementing in game-based scenarios.
Structured Timetable Our professional coaches have put together a full week of activities designed to improve your child’s game and make them a better player.
