Leighton House and Sambourne House Museums Youth Group
Discover the studio-homes of celebrated painter Frederic Leighton, and Punch magazine illustrator Edward Linley Sambourne, both artists living and working in Kensington & Chelsea in the second half of the 19th century. If you are interested in the creative arts, history, and making museums more relevant and welcoming to other young people, we’d like to hear from you.
We are looking for young people aged 15 – 19 who live in Kensington and Chelsea Borough and could meet once a month on a Thursday, at Leighton House, 5.30 – 7.30pm; free pizza.
As a Youth Panel member, you could be:
- researching and designing new creative programming content
- testing out ideas
- reviewing museum activity from the perspective of young people
- coming up with ways to encourage more young people to come to the museums
- helping to shape projects and priorities, influencing decision making
- meeting new people and learning new skills, including communication and research skills
Having fun and making a difference!
Your new behind the scenes experience could also be useful for job, college and UCAS applications.
Eligible Criteria
We welcome applications from young people of all interests, abilities, backgrounds and communities. No previous experience necessary. The only criterion is that you must live in K&C Borough.
For your application to be considered you must:
Live in Kensington and Chelsea Borough
Be aged 15 – 19 years old
Be able to meet once a month at Leighton House (W14 8LZ) on a Thursday, 5.30pm – 7.30pm
