BOOM TOWN
Descriptions of skiing at Park City, Utah, have always been filled with superlatives. In 1963, President John F. Kennedy helped revive the boom-townturned-ghost-town by approving $1.25 million in redevelopment funds to help build Treasure Mountain, the town’s first ski resort, which debuted with the longest gondola in the United States. These days, the new Park City Resort is the largest ski area in the country, offering 7,300-plus acres of terrain.
