CBC, China Building Centre, is a resource integration service platform for the urban development sector in China. It is dedicated to uplifting the quality of Chinese built environment by proactively communicating best-inindustry expertise and initiating dialogues across different segments of the urban development sector and different cultures. As China's first non-governmental platform for urban development sector, CBC is founded in 2012 and affiliated to China Architectural Culture Center, an organization under the MoHURD (Ministry of Housing, Urban and Rural Development). CBC stems from UED (Urban Environment Design) magazine, one of the most recognized professional architecture media in China with 10 years of history.
CBC has 4 pillars: CBC Think Tank, CBC Academy, CBC Projects and CBC Media. CBC Think Tank gathers the smartest minds from the urban development sector in China and abroad to provide advisory to the most challenging urban development projects in China. CBC Academy includes CBC Research Institute and CBC College with professional research and education programs. CBC Projects provides consultancy to urban development projects for cities in China. CBC Media, including UED magazine, Objekt magazine and CBC online media platform, covers 500,000 professional audience in architecture, design and building industry. CBC Architecture & Art Centre CBC Architecture & Art Centre Beijing, where CBC Group is headquartered, is based in the former Chinese Anglican Church that dates back to 1907. Embedded in the fabric of the old city of Beijing, the architecture is heavily derivative of both European and Classical Chinese traditions, as is typical in Chinese churches built after the 1990s. Th rou g h CB C Ta lk︹ UED M aster Lecture, we have successfully facilitated project cooperation between international master architects and Chinese architecture design and urban planning institutions and firms as well as municipal governments like China Architecture Design & Research Group (CAG), Changchun Institute of Urban Planning & Design, Shenzhen Huahui Design Co., Ltd and Shanghai Planning Bureau, to name a few. During the CBC Talk︹UED Master Lecture tour, guest speakers are invited into the CBC Think Tank which comprises fellow international and Chinese leading architects. 20 international masters have been invited into CBC Think Tank to join with over 50 Chinese leaders in the building sector.

In July 2013, UED magazine organized the launch of its 73th issue featuring gmp. In August Designing in Dialogue: the Architecture of von Gerkan, Marg and Partners was published by the CBC Press. On August 8th, 2013, gmp exhibition opened in the National Museum of China, with accompanying events of Mr. von Gerkan’s lecture and an academic dialogue between gmp lead architects and Chinese architects and scholars from Architectural Design and Research Institute of Chinese Academy of Sciences, China Architecture Design & Research Group (CAG), several Chinese architectural schools from top universities and reputed firms. Another gmp exhibition was held in Southeast University, Nanjing on Oct. 14th, 2014. All the events mentioned are organized by the UED magazine.
