Puleo Asia has built a reputation for inspired and innovative artificial Christmas trees and outdoor décor, but the roots of this business started with a pivotal purchase way back in 1954…

Puleo Asia might now enjoy international success on a big scale, but at its heart it is still a family business.

And it’s this founding essence of close relatives and friends gathered around a beautiful festive tree at the centre of a brightly-lit, welcoming home, that the brand will bring to Harrogate Christmas & Gift this month.

The company was originally founded when matriarch Marian Puleo bought an artificial tree for her family home in New Jersey back in the early 1950s. She planned hand-crafted improvements she could make to the simple tree to really bring Christmas to life for her loved ones, and this ethos has since been passed down the generations of both the business owners and its many customers.

The Puleo family went on to found the company in their garage, growing it from there, and today the Puleo brand is one of the biggest producers of creative and unique artificial trees globally, with Puleo Asia based in Kowloon, Hong Kong, whilst its UK showroom is based in Rochdale.

Adrian Yapp, from the UK Sales team, says that Puleo Asia is looking ahead to 2022 with designs for everyone. “Grand, majestic and imposing looking trees such as the Kensington Fir and the Washington Valley, continue to lead the trend for this style of tree,” Adrian reveals. “Meanwhile striking short needle trees, portraying a noble kingly appearance, like the Northern Fir and the Barrington Spruce, offer something for those who prefer trees with an impressive outward show.

“We’ve also seen a large increase in sales of index shaped trees. For those who like the natural forestry look, the Kingsmere and Darlington
