Business is bright and breezy as the sun shines on another vibrant and jam-packed Home & Gift Buyers’ Festival. After just a few short days, many exhibitors told the Daily News they were happy with the quality of this year’s visiting retailers. “What a remarkable few days it’s been already,” says show director Cleere Scamell. “We’ve had a great response to the new Gifts for All area (Hall D) and to the fresh brands in the ever popular Design Point 2 and newly-expanded Design Point 4. Here’s to a great final few days!” Andrew Nettleton, director of Ashleigh & Burwood says the team has been “busy and on our feet from open to close” throughout the show. “I think there was some initial uncertainty after the Brexit result, but in spite of that it’s not dampened the industry’s spirit,” he adds. “Compared to other shows, you always feel like you’re at the heart of it all here at Home & Gift.” And it’s a similar story on the Joe Davis stand in Hall Q, with commercial director Paul Hooker telling the Daily News: “It’s been as good as ever to see so many of our regular customers, and we’ve made lots of new ones, too. Our LED gifts have been phenomenally popular, and the Jingle Bell snoozies have been selling like hot cakes. We’ve even got the weather!”
