LEMMON DROPS: Kaitlyn Hunt case to be featured in episode of MTV series Seven bite-size Lemmon Drops to nibble on while waiting for Steve to get the boot on “Big Brother”:
• Remember Kaitlyn Hunt? Two years ago, shortly before
she was to graduate from Sebastian River High School, she made national headlines after being charged with a felony for having sex with an underage girl. Believe it or not, the bizarre case is being turned into a made-for-TV movie. Well, sort of. The Hunt case will be revisited in an episode of the MTV series “One Bad Choice.” It’s scheduled to air Thursday, Aug. 20 at 11 p.m. We’re talking about an episode with actors! According to imdb.com, Kaitlyn Bausch will play Kaitlyn Hunt. Brett G. Smith will play “Detective Shepard,” (I presume that’s Jeremy Shepherd, a detective with the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office.) Three other actors are listed in the credits. Thanks to Melissa Morales for letting me know about

If Elite Airways starts operating out of Vero Beach Regional Airport in November, the key to its success will be which day it flies from Vero Beach to Newark, and which day it flies from Newark to Vero Beach. (Supposedly, Elite plans to have only one flight per week in each direction.) Charlie Wilson says he will not be running for Vero Beach City Council in November. He predicts there will be five candidates for the two

(Heady jokes that it’s not an official election unless he is on the ballot.) Who will be the fifth candidate? It’s probably safe to assume he or she will be in favor of the sale of the city’s electric system to Florida Power & Light. The number of registered voters (as of Aug. 14) In Indian River County: 99,646. It’s on track to break 100,000 by the 2016 Presidential Preference Primary, as Supervisor of Elections Leslie Swan predicted several months ago. Bill Douglass, the owner of WSI Digital Marketing, had me nodding my head in agreement when he talked about the benefits of working from home. Among other things, we love not having to get into a car and drive to the office. “My commute is about 30 seconds,” he said. At last week’s huge business-networking event at Velde Ford, I had the pleasure of meeting sisters Dottie Childers

and Bobbi Burdick. They operate Goodtime Getaways. Bobbi happens to be the mother-in-law of Bob Gray, who is the Press Journal’s circulation manager. Long story short: More than a year ago, Bob told me that someone mistook him for me – after he said that, I took a photo of us standing together. So, after finding the photo in my iPhone, I emailed it to Bobbi. Did she see a resemblance? “It is a great picture, but the only thing I can see alike is your red shirts,” she said. “Maybe I know Bob too well.” An ad placed by All Aboard Florida in Vero Beach 32963 and Vero News left me scratching my head. “We love it when a state comes together. … Thanks to supporters from Orlando, West Palm Beach, Fort Lauderdale, Miami and all points in between.” Really? Apparently, the vehement opposition along the Treasure Coast just melted away and we came together with the rest of the state.

Top 500 countdown
Fun facts
Russ Lemmon, who loves music (and lists), spent a lot of time putting together his Top 500 favorite songs of all-time. For the next few years, Lemmon Lines will be counting ‘em down. 368. “Rockin’ Robin” (1972) Michael Jackson Memory: Chicago’s AM powerhouse, WLS, played this upbeat song every 15 minutes. Or so it seemed. 367. “Life is a Highway” (1991) Tom Cochrane Memory: The risk of getting a speeding ticket always went up when this song came on the radio. 366. “Touch of Grey” (1987) The Grateful Dead Memory: The video, which showed skeletons playing musical instruments, is a classic. All the songs thus far in the countdown can be found on LemmonLines.com.
