s a proudly Australian enterprise, this year celebrating 44 years as a family-owned business, Len Wallis Audio has always been a keen supporter of high-quality Australian products from brands such as SGR, Serhan+Swift, Les Davis Audio, Du Plesis Audio, Richter Acoustics and Ben Burton, to name but a few. The latest addition to our stable is the complete range of equipment racks and speaker stands from Queensland manufacturer StereoTech. Designed by Andrew Harrison, and based on his decades of experience in the Australian audio industry, StereoTech’s equipment racks and speaker stands are superbly constructed, extremely attractively designed, and are packed with features that will improve the sound quality and useability of the electronics and speakers they support. StereoTech’s ‘Alumina’ equipment racks are able to support even the heaviest hi-

fi components, with a capacity of more than 100 kilograms. They have clear coated, black Japan stained Birch plywood shelves that offer strength, durability, lightness and a warm real wood finish to complement the internally damped

upright support sections, which can be supplied in your choice of Satin-Silver (Alumina Light) or Satin-Black powdercoated aluminium (Alumina Dark). Standing 775mm high, StereoTech’s Alumina equipment racks are the ergonomically correct height to allow easy operation of components on their upper levels. Price: $1,199 Speaker stands are essential to ensure the performance of almost all small two-way and three-way loudspeakers, and StereoTech’s range of ‘Elemento’ stands not only provide this all-essential support but include features such as multiple methods of coupling the stands to your floor (floor-protecting pucks, rubber feet and spikes) plus the ability to keep your speaker cables out of sight by routing them through the upright or even out through the base to ensure neat installation. All StereoTech Elemento stands are crafted from the same materials most premium loudspeakers are manufactured from — Birch ply and non-resonant MDF — and their design is optimised to maximise stiffness and lightness while at the same time minimising resonances. Available in two different heights (490mm and 590mm) to ensure ideal tweeter alignment with different loudspeakers, the Elemento 490 and Elemento 590 models sell for $599 per pair.
