Out of Eden “ « Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they realized they were naked; so they sewed fig leaves together and made coverings for themselves.” Genesis 3:7 It’s said that at the beginning we were all naked. It’s also said that we were sleeping in trees. What is this non sense that makes Human being sleeping in concrete block, wearing synthetic clothes and picking fruits in supermarket? That’s not because of an apple story that we have to deny the truth: among nature, without any trick, a bit naked, a bit lonely … we are right Out of eden refers to an absolute need to go back to nature, a nature almost mythological, never really known, and which doesn’t really exist anymore. Far away from the superficial urban environment, a transparent game lays bare models from their last social compacts: their clothes. This is a simpleness come back, a return to freedom, to a natural look, somewhat as if Eve had never picked the apple. This is the assumption that mankind has never been threw out of Eden ! Openness brings back this part in each one of us, the wishful thinking to free oneself from rules, normality, to break the border that physically put us apart from our environment, by taking off this layer of clothes. This is a simple observation : a bit naked, in the nature, we are right. “

When photography and dance merge... Motion and Emotion is a photochoreographic project created in 2011 with my dance students. The idea was to recreate scenes of an existing piece moving the bodies in a poetic space.

White and green DESCRIPTIVE MEMORY The Romans were the first to extract marble from Carrara’s mountains. Later on, Michelangelo chose its white stone as raw material for many of his sculptures. Nowadays, Carrara still lives from the extraction of this precious material and is one of the most important worldwide marble suppliers. The extraction of marble for years has radically transformed the original landscape. The way workers cut the blocks for transporting gives geometrical shapes to the mountains, providing them almost an architectural appearance. Day by day, the smooth walls dominate the territory and become a sign of identity of this place. The boundaries between the natural and humanized landscape mix in this huge territory. However the continued action of its inhabitants starts dominating the whole scenario. SYNOPSIS The territory as a global concept. A material, the marble, which defines a landscape, which sustains the local economy and gives identity to a place and its population.
