The Lenoir Community College Foundation, Inc., a non-profit organization, was founded in 1972. Its mission is to secure resources that increase financial assistance to students, improve educational programs, and provide ongoing support to modernize and expand facilities at LCC. As donors, you understand the impact of higher education in our communities. It is a simple but true statement that a high school diploma is no longer enough to grant access to a good job and a pleasant lifestyle. To help combat the barrier to education in Lenoir, Greene, and Jones Counties, the Foundation established the LCC Guarantee. This program allows high school students from the service area to attend the College tuition-free. The first group of LCC

FOUNDATION MESSAGE

Guarantee students began their educational endeavors just 12 months ago. The program has grown from 43 students last fall to 102 students this semester. I anticipate that the program will continue to grow as students realize that the Guarantee can provide the education and skills they need for our rapidly changing economy. Why is this important to our community? The Guarantee is a way to promote the economic and social prosperity of our residents, our families, and our community. Businesses will be more likely to invest in a community where the workers are prepared for the jobs they need filled. Education can break the cycle of intergenerational poverty and help provide a safer environment for the community. Donors to the Foundation help students pursue lifelong learning as a way to a better future. On behalf of the LCC Foundation Board of Directors, faculty, staff, and students, I say thank you for your support. Without you, there would be no Foundation to assist students. You make great things happen at LCC.
