Library / Marine Biology Center East Boston, MA Fall 2018 Professor Ann Borst
This project was located on the waterfront of East Boston near Piers Park and the ICA Watershed. For this we were supposed to design a project that could revitalize the waterfront and draw people back into East Boston. The program I decided to go with is a library / marine biology center. This site is next to a large residential community where the only library is more centralized to East Boston and is not easily accessible to this side. It would work with the schools to provide afterschool programs. Bringing a place where families could learn and interact with the marine life native to New England. On the southern edge of the marine center there are long steps that lead right into the harbor. On the steps there are a series of retaining pools that catch the water when the tides come and go. This provides a visual learning experience while providing interaction with the small marine life caught in the pools.

Berklee Music Center Berklee College of Music Boston, MA Fall 2017 Professor Paul Fowler
The site for this project was Berklee College of Music. The objective for this project was to create a music center that included a theatre, classrooms, library, practice rooms, and ensemble spaces. As I arrived at the site, my first impression was that it was a very chaotic site. With it being right inbetween Boylston street, Mass ave, and the Mass pike, there was a great amount of noise, car and foot traffic. I decided to reflect this part of the city to the music center. Every side of the building correlates to the car path across from it. Being there, Boylston street was the most hectic, then Mass ave, and lastly the Mass pike, and with this, each side reflects that choas of each path. The core of the music center has a garden atrium that goes from ground to roof. This creates a peaceful presence inside the building in contrast to the choas outside.

Sacred Space Chapel
Wentworth Institute of Technology Campus, Boston, MA Spring 2019 Professor Manuel Delgado This project was located on the Wentworth campus acting as a sacred space for the colleges of fenway. It was to accommodate the diversity of the students and the multiple variances of religion practices. Water is an element present in almost all religions as a symbol of purity, contemplation and reflection. With this I implemented it throughout the entire chapel inside and out, therefore a person can have that direct engagement and positive experiences with the water at all times. The water also acts as a guide to the chapel space, guiding the user to the direct place they are seeking. Perforations on the side of the building and oculus in the center allows natural light to come into the space as well as being bounced back to the outside as night acting as a beacon on the site.
