Artist & Design STATEMENT
As an artist I constantly see everything around me as a work of art. I strive to design things that are more visually appealing and eye-catching; to step out of the box and to combine organic and manmade materials into one. the more I learn, the more creative I can become. I chose the design field originally for residential design. I wanted to design and build homes internationally; for countries lacking in stable & sustainable infrastructures & homes. In short, I wanted do something that would give back to the community. As my education in architecture and design broaden, so have my goals. I currently strive to become a better designer not only in residential, but more so in commercial design. I believe designing to create a better interaction between people and space is key, as well as, designing for a greener future.

The Family Tree Project Multi Family Housing the concept behind this
Grant Hill
project stems from the general within this
design
public involvement
c o m m u n i t y. From constant stirs of
the busy bodies from SATURDAY famers’ markets, to the engaged noises from sports games being played around the neighborhood, down to the d a i l y
smells of food
vendors selling homemade goods such as tamales and
tacos,
this space use to consist of
interaction
constant
between community members, young
and old. Currently, it’s happening mainly on one side of the street.
BUT, that is about to c ha n g e . Grant Hill is
arguably one of the
sunset,
BEST
spots to watch the
San Diego
and with that, I want to incorporate height
hierarchy to allow the most natural light and beautiful views of Coronado into the residence. My vision for this area is to integrate the whole neighborhood by adding
visual appeal, through greenery and public spaces, and to bring
life
back to this
family-oriented
district. Therefore, I bring you back to the roots, introducing,
The Family Tree Project.
Internships
King guestrooms incorporate earthy textures, rich dark colors, and nature inspired shapes. Honeycomb pattern is featured on the coffee table. Dark colored carpet brings contrast to the lighter wallcovering. The oatmeal colored sofa helps bring warmth and features an accent pillow similar to the repetitive circle shapes on a blackberry.

KING
Pomona translates to “goddess of fruit”. It’s location is in collaboration between natural elements and modern urbanism. Smooth surfaces, metallic details, combined with repetitive patterns and earthy textures create an overall sophisticated ambience.
CAD construction documents ARE important. Organized FF&E documents means a less stressful time for everyone.
