ABOUT ME

Through my art, I seek to compound imagery that depicts various phases of my subconscious. Since I was young, I craved to discover the invisible being that reasons my material existence, in other words, my inner self. Painting and sculpture are the channels that established a relationship between my subconscious and me, as a person of logic, mater, technicality. Practically, when I create, I portray an impulse, a part of my underworld, in the physical realm.

“VLADIMIR 2014 - PRESENT /

I empowered my body of work by creating a character outside the social indulged peculiarities, my mirror friend. I detached his human features and I wrap him with a massive cloak so as to be able to let myself into my deepest me, without any fear of being judged. He is defined by darkness and secrecy. In him I indulge shame, guilt, rage and despair, yet still express triumph and survival.

What awes me is the very moment when one identifies with my initial impulse. It has to do with that found common ground between two inner selves, translated through my character.

‘‘LINE UP” 2014 / BUCHAREST, ROMANIA /

Thousands of years ago, men looked to the planets to guide them. Planetary alignments foretold momentous events of good and evil. In those days, planning wedding,s or even assassinations, according to the planets and stars was common in many cultures. Many people still look to the planets to tell the future. But what really is a planetary alignment and how does it happen?

MERKABA 70 x 100cm / ink on paper The Merkaba is an extremely powerful symbol. It is a combination of two star tetrahedrons - one pointing up to the heavens, channeling energy down from the Universe to the earth plain, and one pointing downwards, drawing energy up from the earth beneath. The Merkaba is the Light Body vehicle, and it is the key to understanding how to move from one dimension or level to another. It is the divine light vehicle supposedly used by Ascended Masters to connect with, and reach those in tune with the higher realms. When this shape is activated around your body, you are in a place of complete protection, with the surrounding energy being generated from pure Divine Love. It is believed that with practice, using the energy and shape visualization of a Merkaba, you can activate an energy field around you which is capable of carrying your consciousness directly to higher realms.

FOLKLORE 2013 / HORSENS, DENMARK /

Romanian folkloric creations are impressively rich in symbolic content and poetical descriptions of the universe. As active repositories of ancient knowledge, these powerful traditional stories reflect the artistic ways through which Romanian people have expressed their shared beliefs, values, and heritage. Whether depicted in legends, in superstitions or in fairy tales, the Romanian world is imbued with mythical creatures and magical beasts. Certain recurring elements have clear Indo- European resonances. These entwine and combine in Romanian folklore in unexpected ways, and provide a space to further reflect and analyze whether these elements were either inherited or otherwise assimilated. Romanian lore, like any other tradition, is a wonderful realm to explore. Even though at times it might seem ambiguous, inconsistent, and even contradictory, the mythic material in Romanian folklore offers invaluable insights into the values of the people who created it.

Certain characteristics confer specificity to Romanian traditions. Myth and fairy tale coexisted in a common cultural context. It could be argued that, the metamorphosis of folkloric narratives was contingent to the social, historical, and religious realities of the people who created them.
