An Italian tradition, Carnival takes place before Lent. In Venice of the XVIII century this period had been extended to include the opening of the theater season at the beginning of October. The idea behind wearing masks was that nobility and common people could mix and interact, all of them hidden behind masks, which meant social distinction disappeared. As we stated ...for everyone!

How to Wear & Combine your Pettiskirt ?

Dress up or down our pettiskirts are very easy to combine. Wear with a blouse, cardigan, T-shirt with or without print and of course our lovely ruffled tops. Pair with bare legs in summer and with panties, tights, leggings, leg warmers, high socks etc. when it’s colder. Complete with Ballerina’s, Boots or Mary Janes, just anything goes!

You can wear our pettiskirts very chique or casual, that’s up to you. Many teenage girls love to wear them with denim treggings, cool Lace- up boots and denim jacket. Girls Rock!

Director and creator Anne-Marie van Dijk started her business in 2005 after having four of her now five children , who were a very important inspiration, aswell as her love for outstanding stylish products, fashion, photography, trading, graphics and creative design. She is very well known for her creativity since she was a child. As a young girl she was always passionate about beautiful shops and shop-windows. Immediatly after graduating in Fashion, Trading and Graphic Design, she got a job as a salesperson in a decorative branche and soon worked her way up and participated in all areas of trading and shopkeeping. From making window-displays to webdesign, from logistics to international business relations, and all in between, she proved to be a professional, and, above all, very original, which is the success of running Le Petit Tom ®.
