The pirates next door One day Michael hears a lot of noise outside. When he goes to have a look he can’t believe his eyes: next to their house they are building something that looks like a ship rather than a house. And it gets even stranger. His new neighbours are the Blunderbuss family, proper pirates! The ditch around their house is home to Roy the guard shark, and they don’t eat with knife and fork, but with dagger and fingers. Michael immediately befriends Billy, the son of the pirates, but not everybody is as happy with the eccentric newcomers... The pirates next door: 1, 2, 3… Charge! When their treasure is stolen, the pirates are skint. There is only one thing to do: they have to find a job. But that’s not so easy if you’ve never worked a day in your life. And landlubber jobs are of course totally unsuitable for a proper pirate! Then Billy and his friend Michael discover who stole the treasure. They plan to recapture it, and that is a very dangerous job. Fortunately it’s also a real pirate’s job, and that is just the kind of job the Blunderbusses are good at!
