It should be both tasty and easy to eat healthy. Lerøy has now introduced an exciting new concept, with products developed especially for the modern, health-conscious consumers. The products are easy to prepare, and in most cases are ready to serve. Our "Grab´n go" products needs only to be heated, and can be

combined into several different dishes. Prepared fish burgers, salmon portions, fishcakes, cod loins and salmon bacon are just some of the alternatives. We wish to inspire you, and hope that our products will create new opportunities for your company!

WHO WE ARE AND WHAT WE STAND FOR

Lerøy Seafood Group can trace its operations back to 1899, when the fisherman-farmer Ole Mikkel Lerøen started selling live fish on the Bergen fish market. This was fish he either had caught himself or had bought from other fishermen. The fish was hauled to market in a wooden crate behind Ole Mikkel Lerøen’s rowing boat, a journey that could take between 6 and 12 hours, depending on prevailing winds and currents. Today Lerøy is one of the largest seafood suppliers and salmon farmers in the world. Our sources of business expands from being a full-range supplier of fish and shellfish products to the retail sector, as well as HoReCa. Activities including distribution of fresh and frozen fish products, and the production of processed, chilled delicacies, such as smoked salmon, shellfish in brine and various salads.

Facts and figures

about salmon and omega-3 fatty acids Salmon is an fat fish, and its fat is rich in healthy omega-3 fatty acids. One portion contains from 5% to 20% fat, depending on where on the fish this is measured. The major fatty acids in fish are EPA + DHA, which account for 10-12% of the fat in salmon, no matter where this is measured. The recommended daily intake of EPA + DHA is 0.25 g /day. One 150-g salmon portion with an fat content of 10% covers our weekly need for EPA + DHA.
