Chute

Axis

Sleeve Angle changed so that the juice doesn't fall out from the pulp outlet and slides down. Manufacturing Process: Injection Molding

Supported

The shaft is supported on the central axis The auger gear is supported on both the ends axially Resulting in Less Vibrations

Detachable

AC Motor

No belt Driven motor -Increased efficiency -Reduced noise -Higher torque at low rpm -Longer lifetime This Juicer runs at 20RPM Why Low RPM? Low RPM speed helps minimize oxidation where more nutritional value is retained

Auger Gear

Material : GE Ultem Material Properties: -Long term Heat resistance. -High strength and stiffness. -Chemical resistance. Manufacturing Process: Injection Molding

Sense It

Techno Aesthetic Detailing

Design Brief : -To design a device where cold and hot water temperature can be sensed in a shower. -A new product experience is devolped which integrates tactile sense and technology. Individual Project

Current Ways of Sensing Liquid Temperature

Problems:

Person tends to burn his/her hand if the water is too hot. Visually a person cannot identify the temperature level. Knobs usually have degrees written on them which is hard to understand. Tap or knob becomes hot if the running water is hot or due to steam, where one cannot close the knob

Design Criteria

Communication should be selfexplanatory. Technology to be used should be simple. The device should be user friendly.

Mood Board - Peoples Experiences while having a shower 23

Final Concept

Colour indication and words have been used for easy understanding of the temperature. A sensor is there at the center of the knob where one can place his hand at a distance and sense the temperature of the water. A thermostatic shower panel is used. Dual control - Flow and temperature are controlled separately giving accurate control of both. Thermostatic cartridge maintains showering temperature by compensating for changes in the incoming water temperature and pressure providing a stable outlet temperature. Automatic shut off in the event of hot or cold water supply failure, thus reducing the risk of injury.

Colour and Words Indication : Burning Hot - 50 C Hot - 45 C Slightly Hot - 40 C Neutral - 35 C Comfortably Cool - 30 C Cold - 25 C

24

Features Installed in the same panel Communicative Simple Tactile experience enhanced Safety precautions taken care of Suitable temperature for the human body provided Pointer makes it easier to fix the temperature User friendly
