Pure ART360: Fran White

FRAN WHITE BA

Fran began her creative journey as a weaver. After college she designed linen fabrics which were woven in Irish, Scottish and Belgium Mills. They were used for interiors, clothing and on film sets, starring in Mr Turner, Mr Holmes and Brightstar.

Having closed The Linen Shop Fran is now concentrating on developing her painting career.

Materials & Process

She creates artwork in a contemporary abstract style, working across a broad range of media including acrylic and graphite on stretched and un-stretched canvas, board, paper, card, and her own fabrics.

Fran’s current body of work is based on an investigative enquiry into women and books, specifically women reading books.

Since July Fran has been observing and responding creatively to shadows noticed in her home environment.
