Good construction could construct wonderful stories of whatever enters in it in a long run. Building could speak itself through the traces left by time and people. I will be always enchanted by the structures, the roofs, the bricks, the everything about architecture.

Located in Enshi City, Hubei Province, the project is situated between mountains and river. The surrounding farmland and natural environment make the museum away from the hustling of city life. By developing the concept of Peking Opera Facial Mask, the museum combines natural resources with traditional culture, creating a rich interspersed space of communication.

On the process of my design, I did some mapping at the beginning. I listed some items to map the facial makeup. For instance, there are colors, characters, lines and history, etc. Through analyzing these parts, I gradually comprehended the main figures of the makeups. To be more clear, the colors, the painting techniques as well as the plays are of vital importance to a specific makeup. Among all these stuff, I personally prefer the lines of it to develop my concepts of the museum. Then it turns to the site, which is filled with natural landscape and beautiful views, it is better to create more spaces to view the outside, so I designed the museum with many windows and balconies. And I combined the concept with the site, thinking about what a role that lines should play in the building, that's why I came up with the idea of the concept of the caves.
Fold
A cave in an architecture could be used for a channel from one place to another. With many caves, the rooms will be connected, and the spaces will be connected, so will be

the functions. As an original cave, it has a hollow mouth. To rich its interest, I took advantage of the transparency of the mouth. That is, if the mouth are non-transparent, it's a cave with a door; If the cave has a transparent mouth, it can be a window. Hence, I made conceptual doors and windows, which are the primary parts of a building. And I also utilized a tilt wall excavated by the lines to create my open spaces as balconies. That is exactly what I planned at first: A museum with many windows and balconies. After confirming my concepts and designing tricks, I selected some opera heroes' facial makeups and depicted their eyes' outlines to transform them into the special caves. Having done these works, I reached to the next process of the plane designs. Firstly, I started designing a cave as a crossing space throughout the museum, some with a door and some not. Meanwhile, I arrayed these caves in a specific order for the sake of organizing the functions of my museum, we can see many caves being

the conceptual balconies. A facial makeup museum was born. This is the whole process of my design flows.

The high-rise hotel is located in Zhonghuan, the commercial core area of Hongkong, its site has complex environment . Considering people with different identities will stop by this place, different stories could happen here. Using the mirror as the concept, the project creates a space to let Hong kong dwellers communicate with people from mainland.

This project begins with creating a kind of space for
small amount of infomation

people to communicate. In this typically fast-pased society, maybe the most precious thing is that people can slow down, giving time to think deeply and communicate with others. There is a process that facilitates this phenomenon. It begins with the amount of infomation we receive. In general, our brains can easily handle one or few infomation at one time. However, when we are facing with large
strong self-awareness
weak self-awareness
amount of infomation, our brains will be overloaded, which will stop handling with so much infomation. At this moment, our brains are in a free state, and our selfawareness is reducing. This condition allows people to begin deep thinking. Being pulled away from the real life, people think about themselves and the world. At last, they finally stop by and calm down, to think and to

communicate, with themselves as well as other people. After knowing this pivotal process, all I need is f i n d a m e t h o d t o e x pa n d t h e i n f o m a t i o n p e o p l e w i l l re c e i ve i n t h e p u b l i c s pa c e , w h i c h c a n b r i n g t h e w o r l d t o p e o p l e ’s e y e s a s m u c h a s p o s s i b l e . The reflection characteristcs of the mirror makes it a perfect carrier of the world. With different angles and positions of mirrors, people will be able to see different scenes through them, receiving huge amount of infomation. Different distances and ranges of the mirrors also changes people’s internal mind, such as feeling lost when seeing an obscure image or feeling curious when seeing an unexpected image. According to my research on the mirror, I have designed two ways for people looking at in the public space. The first is looking up to the mirror, with mirrors above our heads. By changing the tilt angle, the mirror reflects different images like people, sea, the sky wheel and other surrounding objects. However, the distance between watcher and the mirror could not change. The second one is looking at the mirror horizontally. This kind of mirror also reflects different images through different angles, and most importantly, people can get far or close to the mirror to see vague or clear images.

Structure Deduction
Taking common industrial bars as the prototype, the support unit of a large span structure makes modifications to it. The tops of adjacent bars are lifted so as to produce a dislocated roof surface. After the bars are arranged, steel columns and cables are added to make the support more stable, thus forming major steel structure. More cables are added to roof steelwork so as to support the glass roof. When the skeleton and exterior protective construction are finished, a steelwork unit takes shape. When steelwork units are arranged, the major structure of the architecture is formed. Floor Plan scale 1/500
