INTRODUCTION The following is a set of guidelines for anyone producing visual materials representing the Legacy Film Collection brand. This set of instructions includes basic graphic principles that make up the Legacy Identity Standards. It is extremely important to our company to maintain the integrity of our brand by using it consistently across all applications. Any changes or adjustments to the Legacy Brand that exceed these standards require approval from the Legacy Film Company Marketing Department. Logos and tag-lines referred to in this document can be downloaded in both jpeg and eps formats at LegacyFilm.com.

LOGO VARIATIONS The proper use of the Legacy logo is essential in order to maintain consistent brand recognition. There are two variations of the Legacy logo, the stand alone brand mark and the logo with the company name. While it is preferred to use the brand mark as the primary logo for the company, there are circumstances when the logo with the company name will have to be used. The idea behind the logo is simple and straightforward, a strip of film being folded to represent the letter ‘L’ in legacy. The various shades of blue used in the logo not only help add dimension to the logo, but also represent monochromatic colors (tints, tones, and shades of a single hue.) The change of colors represents a metaphoric legacy being handed down from one version to the next.

REVERSE APPLICATIONS We understand that sometimes the color of logos need to be altered just a bit for different situations. While we love our color scheme of blue, and we prefer our logo is always represented in color, we get that it can’t always be used. The opposite page has examples of acceptable reverse applications that may be applied to Legacy designs. If you have any questions regarding reverse applications, you can always contact our marketing department.

CLEAR SPACE No one likes clutter. This is why it is important that when using the Legacy logo there is a clear amount of space around the logo itself. The Unit of measure that best suits the needs of clear space would be to create a square where the logo folds. The size of that square should be the clear space around the logo. Think of it like an invisible forcefield where nothing can get through. This will help ensure there is plenty of space around the Legacy logo.

INAPPROPRIATE LOGO USE We really like our logo the way it is, it took a lot of work to get it looking great! With that said, please consider the following when using the legacy logo.

1. Do not stretch the logo. Proper

proportions should always be kept in mind, squished logos don’t look well.

2. Refrain from rotating the logo. It’s

tempting, we get it, but it just doesn’t work well. We want to avoid having our logo look like a check mark.

5. When using the text version of

the Legacy logo, please keep the text either blue, white or black, refer to our color guide for specific colors, and keep the font at Avenir Black.

6. Avoid adding flashy objects or

shapes behind the Legacy logo. It just doesn’t look right.

3. Think a shade of green or purple

might look better than blue? Think again. Please keep our logo the colors they should be. Refer to our color guide for exact colors.

4. Please refrain from adding drop

shadows or other effects when using the Legacy logo.
