Reggio Emilia. Italy Urban rigeneration Letizia Soncini Lisa Pellati Gloria Smecca location theme team The project area is located in the neighborhood of Santa Croce, north of Reggio Emilia. The project area is behind the central station of the city, but it is isolated and poorly connected to the center of this city. This isolation, linked to lack of services and public spaces, has made the neigh- borhood a fate of “ghetto”.

The intervention takes place on four different themes: 1.The road as the fulcrum of retraining was firstly put to the service of pedestrians, going to delimit a 30km zone that would turn it into a big square;

2. The residential front integrated with commercial services

3. the creation of a great compassion that brings together new social services

4. redesigning public green.

The presence of different monofunctional tissues and an isolated and closed area to the rest of the neighborhood.

Revitalization of the “Viale Ramazzini” and of the blocks facing it.

Re-use of industrial sheeds for the creation of new commercial and entertainment spaces; 30 km/h area

PRE-EXISTENCE Presence of an industry partly abandoned and partly for single-use use.

FUNCTIONS Creating a variety of services differentiated by type and range of users.

The focus of all the action is the creation of a large solar panel coverage that brings together new services and creates a meeting space and socialization needed to create a new community of neighborhoods; Green becomes the connector element of the project by colonizing the new squares generated by the intervention.

3 COVER Creating a hybrid space that binds and connects the functions around him.
