Jim Rennert For many years, Jim Rennert worked as a successful businessman, before finding artistic inspiration in creating sculpture. Rennert began exhibiting in galleries in 1993, and has since gained significant recognition. In 2008, he was elected a member of the National Sculpture Society. Rennert's figurative sculpture uses three-dimensional space to make accessible allegorical assertions about complex truths derived from daily life, especially those encountered in the world of business. As his epigrammatic titles suggest, the sculptures resonate concise, often subtle, visual metaphors of challenge, triumphs, and dilemmas commonly encountered along the sometimes difficult path of one's career. Using wit and sophisticated whimsy as well as contemplative imagery, these sculptures are fun and full of humor as they simultaneously portray vignettes about realities of the world. Their presence is powerful and at the same time quietly thought-provoking. They entertain even as they reassure and inspire. He has been featured in publications such as Sculptural Review, American Art Collector, The Inquirer and Mirror. His work is in numerous private and public collections, including the Governor’s Mansion of Utah, Terra Industries, GSL Electric, The Colorado Council for the Arts, Grand Junction, CO, The Church Museum of History and Art, Salt Lake City, UT and the Granite Education Foundation. His work was also featured in 2013 on ABC News in a segment called, “’Think Big’ Sculpture Hopes to Inspire New Yorkers."

"Working at an equal distance from the realism of portraiture and the idealism first promulgated by ancient Greek sculpture, Rennert shows us human figures as emblems of immediately recognizable feelings and attitudes: competitiveness and cooperation, confidence and doubt.... There is a universal quality to the exhiliration of the buoyant figure in Leap of Faith." Carter Ratliff, Contributing Editor for Art in America

"... A lot of businessmen don't even wear suits anymore, so the suits [have become] metaphoric. My sculptures are about life, about persevering and accomplishing and being competitive in today's society." Jim Rennert "Jim Rennert: Taking Care of Business," Wolf Schneider, Southwest Art, July 2008
