As program coordinator for Workforce Education, Solutions & Safety training at Lewis and Clark, meeting employer needs is my focus. If you require a course that you do not see listed, please give me a call. Sometimes it simply means scheduling or designing a private session just for your company. Other times, for individuals venturing out on their own, if we don’t offer a class you want now, you just might see it offered in the next issue. In addition to the professional development choices we offer, safety training is very important. Go to www.lc.edu/safety for access to our Safety Course Calendar, a quick reference to several safety standards as well as some new courses to be offered on a revolving schedule – such as CPR, Forklift Operator, HAZWOPER, Fall Protection Awareness, OSHA 10/30 and Confined Space Awareness.

WESST Customer Spotlight / Voice of the Client
“The City of Alton employees serve the community of Alton with fire and emergency response, police protection, street and park maintenance, issuing permits and birth certificates, keeping homes and businesses up to code, trash billing and much more. The city has a Civil Service Commission in place to provide an independent merit–based process using objective criteria for the selection of new employees and promotion of current employees. With the help of Lewis and Clark’s testing services, the commission is able to provide a fair and unbiased screening process. Lewis and Clark helps us identify appropriate testing for each position and provides a convenient, flexible location for our candidates to test. They are very accommodating and quick to respond to all our needs.” Rachel Lomelino, Civil Service Chief Examiner & Amanda Scoggins, Director of Human Resources Pictured from left to right: Fire Chief Bernie Sebold , Police Chief Jake Simmons, Director of Human Resources Amanda Scoggins, Civil Service Chief Examiner Rachel Lomelino and Public Works Director Robert Barnhart
