What is social media? We’re sure you already know this, but just in case – social media is Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Foursquare – any websites you use to connect, talk with people and share info!
Who uses it? Everybody and anybody. Twitter has 300 million users worldwide and Facebook is nearing 700 million. Most of the world’s sport superstars use social media to talk to fans – Shaq, Dirk, LeBron, Kevin Durant, Usain Bolt and even Wayne Rooney use it!

WHY SHOULD I BE CAREFUL? Getting set-up In your bio info, say where you’re from, who you play for and what else you’re interested in. Try to select a Twitter username that’s easy for people to find and use. Create a Facebook page, upload some images, some info and set an easy-to-find URL.
How to talk to people? Post a message to any platform and see who talks back... On Twitter, use the @ symbol and a username to talk directly to someone On Facebook, use the comments boxes to have conversations Be friendly, honest and genuine If fans have constructive feedback, listen and respond!
