The Intersections of Mental Health Perspectives in Addictions Research Training (IMPART) program is now accepting applications for training awards in the Masters, PhD, Postdoctorate and Clinical Researcher categories. Training begins on September 1, 2014 and ends August 31, 2015. IMPART is funded by the CIHR Strategic Training Initiative in Health Research and is hosted by the British Columbia Centre of Excellence for Women’s Health, Vancouver. It is a Pan-Canadian training program designed to equip health researchers from across disciplines, sectors and settings to conduct sex- and gender-based analyses in addictions research. IMPART also encourages innovative research on the intersections of gender/sex, mental health, violence and trauma. IMPART is currently accepting applications from graduate, post doctoral fellows and clinicians across Canada. Prospective trainees must be enrolled in a Canadian institution/agency for their proposed studies and be in their 1st or 2nd year of their program to be eligible for an award. The deadline for applications is June 1,2014. How does it work? IMPART trainees work with an Impart faculty mentor to develop individualized learning plans and are part of a vibrant network of basic, health and social science researchers. Trainees are also required to actively participate in curricular activities that include an annual Research Day, online learning modules, monthly seminars and collaborative projects. Seminars and other events are conducted via web and videoconference to allow the participation of all trainees and mentors regardless of location. To hold an IMPART fellowship, applicants must be enrolled in a graduate program at a Canadian university, be a postdoctoral fellow at a Canadian institution or be a clinician researcher affiliated with a Canadian health or social services agency. Maxiumum value of awards: • Postdoctoral Fellows • PhDs • Masters • Clinician Researchers
