Lexington Catholic’s annual DanceBlue Mini-Marathon took place on January 13, 2023, in the Alumni gym. Approximately 400 students danced for 5 hours to raise awareness and funds for kids battling cancer! This year DanceBlue raised over $35,000 for the Pediatric Oncology Center at the University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center. The funds raised by Lexington Catholic are used to assist families who need to stay in the Lexington area while their children undergo cancer treatment. This year, a young patient and her family joined us at our Mini-Marathon to talk about the impact of fundraising efforts. Our students were very touched, and provided the family with a care package of donations that they chose to distribute to patients at UK. As always, the event was an exhausting and rewarding effort that our students hope to repeat at the college of their choice, as many universities all over the country have similar Dance Marathons to fight pediatric cancer.
