The Leader in Training (LIT) Program Director is responsible for leading an inclusive, classroombased leadership development program for high school teens with and without disabilities. The program combines classroom learning with hands-on experiences with a summer day camp to cultivate leadership, teamwork, and career explorations. Responsibilities include developing an engaging and inclusive curriculum to meet the needs of participants with diverse abilities and learning styles, monitor participant progress and support needs, work closely with camp staff to integrate the LIT participants into camp activities, attend weekly leadership meetings, supervising program staff and supervise LIT participants during their hands-on learning experiences. Communicate regularly with camp director, summer inclusion supervisor and Therapeutic Recreation Specialist.

Aquatics Program Schedule:

Orientations/In-services: anticipated evenings/weekends in May/June

Applicants are expected to be in the process of completing all required certifications, have evidence of a scheduled course, or commit to participation in the full course or recertification course offered at the Lexington Town Pool by March 1st in order to be considered for employment Please note, the Lexington Town Pool does not guarantee offering a course to staff each season and/or courses are limited to our staff and pool availability. Employment is contingent upon completion of all required certifications and providing documentation to the department, in addition to completion of a 500 yd swim and correct demonstration of water rescue skills during Orientation.

Participants completing Lifeguarding or Water Safety Instructor courses between January 1, 2025 and the start of the regular season may be eligible to receive reimbursement for a percentage of course tuition fees upon successful completion of the season; detailed receipts needed Plus receive up to 20 hours of pay with documentation of course schedule. Staff may be assigned to either the Lexington Town Pool facility or the Old Reservoir. Aquatics positions are for the entire summer and applicants are asked to consider their summer schedule/availability in advance.

Positions require day, evening and weekend hours, and schedules fluctuate week to week. Rates are based on number of years in the field, experience and current certifications.

LIFEGUARD-

Ensures safety at the aquatic facilities (Town Pool and Old Reservoir) in and out of the water. Interacts with the public. Performs light maintenance, facility and custodial work as needed (trash pick-up, cleaning locker rooms, raking beach, etc.), and other related duties as assigned. Required participation in weekly in-services including a 500 yd swim. Works under the direction and supervision of the Aquatics Manager, Assistant Manager and Head Lifeguard on duty.

Requirements:

Minimum 16 years of age by June 2, 2025
